The Truth Beneath
''The Truth Beneath'' (, lit. "There Is No Secret") is a 2016 South Korean thriller film directed by Lee Kyoung-mi, her second directorial outing after 2008's '' Crush and Blush'', and co-written by Park Chan-wook. The film stars Son Ye-jin and Kim Joo-hyuk. Plot Kim Yeon-hong (Son Ye-jin) appears to have a perfect life. She is beautiful, is married to a charismatic young politician (Kim Joo-hyuk), and her adolescent daughter who used to be a troublesome child is now doing better at school. Her husband, Kim Jong-chan, decides to run for office against the powerful incumbent, No Jae-soon (Kim Eui-sung). Lee Kyoung-mi ( ; born December 1973) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. Career Lee Kyoung-mi was born in Seoul, and graduated with a Russian degree from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. After working at a company for three years, she entered the School of Film, TV & Multimedia of the Korea National University of Arts, graduating with a major in Filmmaking in 2004. Her short film ''Feel Good Story'', about an employee given the task of figuring out how her company can evade paying taxes, garnered several awards in the film festival circuit in 2004. Kim Min-jae (; born March 20, 1979) is a South Korean actor. He starred in TV series such as '' Reset'' (2014), ''Spy'' (2015), '' The Village: Achiara's Secret'' (2015), and ''Feel Good to Die'' (2018).
