The Trouble With Tracy
''The Trouble with Tracy'' is a Canadian television series produced by CTV for the 1970–1971 television season, with intended distribution by the U.S.-based National General Pictures. It is considered by some to be one of the worst situation comedies ever produced. The series was produced as a daily show, and aired weekday afternoons at 3:30 pm from September 14, 1970. The economic and time pressures of producing 130 episodes in a single season (seven shows were filmed every five days) meant cheap, wobbly sets, no outdoor filming, a laugh track instead of a live studio audience, the use of single takes, the reuse of 25-year-old radio scripts, and other shortcuts that resulted in a poor-quality show. Even flubbed lines and bloopers sometimes ended up airing, because the show could not afford retakes. Murray Chercover
Murray Howard Chercover (18 August 1929 – 3 July 2010) was a Canadian television producer and executive, particularly known as the president of the CTV Television Network from 1967 until 1990. Early life Chercover was born in Montreal, Quebec, but moved with his family to Port Arthur, Ontario in his youth. There in 1944, his first broadcast job was with radio station CFPA. Career From the late 1940s, Chercover worked in New York on various theatre and television projects. When CBC Television began in 1952, he returned to Toronto to produce and direct various programmes there including ''Space Command'', '' General Motors Presents'', ''On Camera'' and Ford's ''Playbill''. ''Easy Aces'' is an American serial radio comedy (1930–1945). It was trademarked by the low-keyed drollery of creator and writer Goodman Ace and his wife, Jane, as an urbane, put-upon realtor and his malaprop-prone wife. A 15-minute program, airing as often as five times a week, ''Easy Aces'' wasn't quite the ratings smash that such concurrent 15-minute serial comedies as ''Amos 'n' Andy'', '' The Goldbergs'', ''Lum and Abner'', or ''Vic and Sade'' were. A cult following refers to a group of fans who are highly dedicated to some person, idea, object, movement, or work, often an artist, in particular a performing artist, or an artwork in some medium. ''Canada AM'' was a Canadian morning television news show that aired on CTV from 1972 to 2016. Its final hosts were Beverly Thomson and Marci Ien, with Jeff Hutcheson presenting the weather forecast and sports. The program aired on weekdays, and was produced from CTV's facilities at 9 Channel Nine Court in Scarborough, Toronto. ''Turn-On'' is an American sketch comedy series that aired on ABC in February 1969. Only one episode was shown, leaving one episode unaired, and the show is considered one of the most infamous flops in TV history. ''Turn-Ons sole broadcast episode was shown on Wednesday, February 5, 1969, at 8:30 pm ET, replacing the Wednesday episode of '' Peyton Place''. Among the cast were Teresa Graves (who would join the ''Laugh-In'' cast that fall), Hamilton Camp, and Chuck McCann. The writing staff included Albert Brooks.
