George A. Siegmann (also credited as George Seigmann; February 8, 1882 – June 22, 1928) was an American actor and film director in the silent film era. Anna Mae Walthall
Anna Mae Walthall (3 October 1894–17 April 1950) (also billed as Anna May Walthall) was an American actress of silent films, appearing in 24 films from 1914 to 1926. She was born as Anna May Walthall in 1894 (possibly in 1890) on a cotton plantation owned by her father in Shelby County in Alabama, the second youngest of eleven children of Junius Leigh Walthall, a former officer in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, and Anne Mallory née Wallace. Her older brother was the actor Henry B. Walthall. In 1911 aged 18 she married Robert Lee Rhodes in La Junta in Colorado. The marriage was later dissolved. Many of her film roles were Pre-Hays Code, in which she appeared in see-through sheer clothing semi-nude. Gertrude Astor (born Gertrude Irene Eyster; November 9, 1887 – November 9, 1977) was an American motion picture character actress, who began her career playing trombone in a woman's band. Early years Gertrude Irene Eyster was born in Lakewood, Ohio, to a working-class family of German descent. Her father was Glen Eyster, an assistant fire chief in Lima, Ohio. Career Astor joined a woman's band as a trombone player and toured the states. In New York she left the band to obtain film work and got a job as an extra before her career took off. In 1915, Astor gained a contract with Universal Studios. Between then and 1962, she appeared in over 250 movies. Her first known credit is in a Biograph short in 1915.
