Rosaleen Love (born 1940) is an Australian science journalist and writer. She has a PhD in the history and philosophy of science from the University of Melbourne. She has written works on the Great Barrier Reef and other science or conservation topics. She has also written science fiction, which has been noted for her use of irony and feminism. Bill Congreve
Bill Congreve is an Australian writer, editor and reviewer of speculative fiction. He has also published the work of Australian science fiction and horror writers under his MirrorDanse imprint. Biography Congreve's first work was published in 1987 with his short story "Collector" which was featured in the Summer 1986/1987 edition of Aphelion Science Fiction Magazine. In 1992 Congreve's first edited anthology was released by Five Islands Press, featuring a short story and introduction by Congreve as well as 10 other stories by different authors. In 1994 Congreve founded his publishing company MirrorDanse Books which specialises in science fiction and horror. Janeen Webb
Janeen Webb (''née'' Pemberton) is an Australian writer, critic and editor, working mainly in the field of science fiction and fantasy. Biography The daughter of a Second World War Australian Army commando and salesman, Webb was brought up in the Newcastle suburb of Charlestown and was educated at local schools. She then studied at the University of Newcastle, New South Wales where she gained a Ph.D. in literature in 1983. For many years, she taught at the Institute of Catholic Education (later part of the Australian Catholic University) in Melbourne, Victoria where she was Associate Professor and Reader in literature. From 1987 to 1991, Webb was a member of the editorial collective of ''Australian Science Fiction Review: Second Series'', and is currently on the advisory board of ''Science Fiction Studies''. Jack Dann (born February 15, 1945) is an American writer best known for his science fiction, an editor and a writing teacher, who has lived in Australia since 1994. He has published over seventy books, in the majority of cases as editor or co-editor of story anthologies in the science fiction, fantasy and horror genres. He has published nine novels, numerous shorter works of fiction, essays and poetry and his books have been translated into thirteen languages. His work, which includes fiction in the science fiction, fantasy, horror, magical realism and historical and alternative history genres, has been compared to Jorge Luis Borges, Roald Dahl, Lewis Carroll, J. ''Dreaming Down-Under'' is a 1998 speculative fiction anthology edited by Jack Dann and Janeen Webb. Background ''Dreaming Down-Under'' was first published in Australia in November 1998 by Voyager Books in trade paperback format. In 1999 and 2000 it was republished as two separate volumes. It was released in the United Kingdom by Swift Publishers in 2000 and in the United States by Tor Books in hardback and paperback formats in 2001 and 2002 respectively. ''Dreaming Down-Under'' won the 1999 World Fantasy Award for best anthology and the 1999 Ditmar Award for best Australian magazine or anthology. Ellen Datlow (born December 31, 1949) is an American science fiction, fantasy, and horror editor and anthologist. She is a winner of the World Fantasy Award and the Bram Stoker Award (Horror Writers Association). Career Datlow began her career working for Holt, Rinehart and Winston for three years, as well as doing a stint at Crown Publishing Group. She went on to be fiction editor at ''Omni'' magazine and ''Omni Online'' from 1981 through 1998, and edited the ten associated ''Omni'' anthologies. Karen Joy Fowler is an American author of science fiction, fantasy, and literary fiction. Her work often centers on the nineteenth century, the lives of women, and alienation. She is best known as the author of the best-selling novel ''The Jane Austen Book Club'' that was made into a movie of the same name.
