The Traffic Cop
''The Traffic Cop'' is a 1926 American silent drama film directed by Harry Garson and starring Maurice 'Lefty' Flynn, Kathleen Myers, and Nigel Barrie.Munden p. 825 Plot As described in a film magazine review, Joe Regan, a young traffic officer who has adopted an orphaned boy, takes his charge to a seaside resort to help him recuperate from an injury. There he meets Alicia Davidson, a young woman whom he has met in the line of duty, and a warm friendship develops. The young woman's father one night becomes intoxicated while in the company of the policeman, and the latter is blamed. However, Alicia relents, and when the policeman saves her and others from death, she promises to become his wife. Harry Garson (1882 – September 21, 1938) was an American film director and producer. He directed 29 films between 1920 and 1934, and produced 11 films before that. Adele Farrington (1867 – 19 December 1936) was an American actress of the silent film era. Biography Born Anna King in Brooklyn, New York, Farrington was a stage actress before appearing in 74 films between 1914 and 1926. She was a relatively old actress for the silent film era, being 47 at the beginning of her film career. She appeared in many films directed by Lois Weber and Phillips Smalley. Her husband was film director and actor Hobart Bosworth, in whose films she also often appeared. They divorced and Bosworth remarried to a younger woman and had a small child by 1920. She died in Los Angeles, California.
