The Tide is a light rail line in Norfolk, Virginia, United States, owned and operated by Hampton Roads Transit (HRT). It connects Eastern Virginia Medical School, Downtown Norfolk, Virginia, downtown Norfolk, Norfolk State University, and Newtown Road. Service began on August 19, 2011, making it the first light rail system in Virginia. Fares match local bus fares and the line accepts HRT's GO Passes. Trains generally run every 15 minutes, increasing to every 10 minutes during peak periods and every 30 minutes during early mornings and late evenings. The Tide were a band from Los Angeles, California formed in 2015. They were signed to The Vamps' record label, Steady Records, under EMI Universal. They were the supporting act for The Vamps World Tour 2015, and again in 2016, along with other artists such as Before You Exit (USA leg), Luke Friend (UK leg), HomeTown (UK leg) and Union J (UK leg). They also supported The Vamps in 2017. Career The band was formed when the Vamps announced a secret project in late December 2014 and held auditions for a US guitarist and drummer aged 18–20 to form a band. Drew and Nate were in a previous pop-punk band called "All the Above" until they were given the offer to move on. ''The Tide'' is a Nigerian daily newspaper. It is the most widely circulated newspaper published in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and one of Nigeria's major newspapers. Owned and funded by the state, ''The Tide'' began printing operations on 1 December 1971 and has a digital version. Fire On 20 July 2012, a fire broke out in ''The Tide''s main building, damaging significant portions of the establishment, including the General Manager's office, Credit Control Unit, Administration General office and Board Room. Although no injuries or deaths were reported, much of the company's equipment and staff documents were destroyed. According to a statement from the General Manager Mr. Celestine Ogolo, the fire started at around 2.00a.m and quickly took over the highest floor of the building where his office was stationed. Oceana (band)
Polyenso is an American experimental rock band based in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. The band is composed of lead vocalist and keyboardist Brennan Taulbee, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Alexander Schultz, and percussionist Denny Agosto. The band's members were all at one point in American post-hardcore band Oceana, but moved to lighter, more uplifting music under the name Polyenso in 2012. Their sound is a blend of indie rock, electronic, folk, jazz, and hip-hop. They released their debut album, ''One Big Particular Loop'', on January 22, 2013. On October 16, 2015, the band released ''EP1'' featuring four tracks from their upcoming second album, ''Pure in the Plastic''. The album, released on April 1, 2016, featured a more pop-inspired sound, without the trumpet playing of their debut album. The Tides was an Indie rock band best known as the predecessor to Northern Irish band General Fiasco. The band was formed in 2002 by Paul McMillan on vocals/guitar and Paul Quinn on drums. Owen Strathern joined the group as bass player in 2004. Later the band included a live guitarist Stephen Leacock, who went on to play drums in General Fiasco with Owen Strathern. The group disbanded in 2007 due to work commitments and General Fiasco becoming more serious. History The Tides formed in 2002. The 4 members went to the same school (Rainey) in Magherafelt in Northern Ireland. In 2004, The Tides ep was recorded at Manor Park studios with Neal Caulderwood. Lakeshore East is a master-planned mixed use urban development being built by the Magellan Development Group in the Loop community area of Chicago in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It is located in the northeastern part of the Loop, which, along with Illinois Center, is called the New Eastside. The development is bordered by Wacker Drive to the north, Columbus Drive to the west, Lake Shore Drive to the east, and East Randolph Street to the south. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill created the master plan for the area. The development, which had been scheduled for completion in 2011, was set for completion in 2013 by 2008.
