The Third Half (2013 Film)
''The Third Half'' ( it, Il terzo tempo) is a 2013 Italian sport drama film co-written and directed by Enrico Maria Artale, at his feature film debut. The film was screened at the 73rd edition of the Venice Film Festival in the Horizons section. Plot Samuel is a troubled teenager with a drug addict mother and a father he never knew. He spent the last years of his life committing thefts, robberies and assaults, entering and leaving juvenile reform school. After serving yet another sentence, he is included in a rehabilitation program: he obtains semi-release and starts working on the farm in a small town in the Roman province. His supervisor is Vincenzo, a social worker who, after the death of his wife, struggles to find his balance. Aurelio De Laurentiis (born 24 May 1949) is an Italian film producer through his company, Filmauro, and the owner of Italian Association football, football clubs S.S.C. Napoli, Napoli (of which he is also chairman) and S.S.C. Bari, Bari. He is the nephew of film producer Dino De Laurentiis and first-cousin once removed of chef Giada De Laurentiis. He serves on the board of directors of the National Italian America Foundation. In 1995, he was a member of the jury at the 19th Moscow International Film Festival. 73rd Venice International Film Festival
The 73rd annual Venice International Film Festival was held from 31 August to 10 September 2016. English director Sam Mendes was the President of the Jury for the main competition. The opening night film was Damien Chazelle's musical ''La La Land''. The Golden Lion was awarded to Lav Diaz's film ''The Woman Who Left''. A new project named Venice Production Bridge was introduced in this edition of the festival. The new project is intended to attract industry professionals and focus on original projects for films, internet, series, virtual reality, and works in progress, in order to help their development and production. It is also meant to work in conjunction with the Venice Film Market which started in 2012.
