The Teochew Family
The Teochew Family () is a 1995 Singaporean Drama Series produced by Television Corporation of Singapore (now Mediacorp) and Fujian TV. Starring veteran Hong Kong actor Kenneth Tsang and Singaporean stars Zoe Tay, Chew Chor Meng and Zeng Huifen, this drama describes the trials and tribulations the teochew Cai Family under the patriarch Cai Qingyang (Kenneth Tsang) from the late 1940s to the 1990s. Plot Written by Hong Kong veteran storyteller Cheng Jieyin (程洁茵) and Singaporean writer Koh Teng Liang (许声亮), The Teochew Family tells the story of Chaozhou rice merchant Cai Qingyang (Kenneth Tsang), owns Tai Feng Zhan (泰丰栈). Kenneth Tsang
Kenneth Tsang Kong (; 5 October 1934 – 27 April 2022) was a Hong Kong actor. Tsang's career spanned 50 years and included a variety of acting roles. Tsang won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards in 2015. Early life and education Tsang Koon-yat was born in Shanghai with family roots in , Zhuhai, Guangdong. Tsang attended high school in Wah Yan College, Hong Kong and then Wah Yan College, Kowloon. He attended McMurry College, Abilene, Texas for his freshman year and transferred to University of California, Berkeley, where he received a degree in architecture. Career Tsang returned to Hong Kong in the early 1960s as an architect but was unsatisfied by the work. The Star Awards for Best Actor is an award presented annually at the Star Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1994. The category was introduced in 1995, at the 2nd Star Awards ceremony; Li Nanxing received the award for his role in ''Wounded Tracks'' and it is given in honour of a Mediacorp actor who has delivered an outstanding performance in a leading role. Mak Ho Wai
Mak Ho Wai (; 7 January 1946 – 14 April 2022) was a Hong Kong / Singaporean television artiste with TVB and then Mediacorp. Early life and education Mak studied at the National Taiwan Ocean University, receiving a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering. He later earned a master's degree in Chinese language studies at the Beijing Normal University at the age of 60. Career After graduating from National Taiwan Ocean University, Mak was a radio DJ in Taiwan a period of time. Having spent ten years in Taiwan, he was proficient in speaking standard Mandarin. Mak enrolled into the twelfth cohort of the TVB artiste training class in 1982 to fulfil the wishes of his younger brother, , who was also an actor with TVB. Lina Ng Su Fang (; born 6 May 1974) is a Singaporean actress and host. She was a full-time Mediacorp and SPH MediaWorks artiste from 1993 to 2004 but currently continues to film on an ad-hoc basis.
