The Ten Gladiators
''The Ten Gladiators'' ( it, I dieci gladiatori) is a 1963 Italian film directed by Gianfranco Parolini. Plot summary Roccia and a band of fellow gladiators join forces with a patrician named Glaucus Valerius to replace Nero, (and his evil henchman, Tigelinus), with a new emperor: Servius Galba. During the course of this bloody struggle, the gladiators lose their mentor and trainer - Resius - and then must rescue Lidia, Resius' beautiful niece, from death on the cross. Gianfranco Parolini
Gianfranco Parolini (20 February 1925 in Rome, Italy – 26 April 2018 in Rome, Italy) was an Italian film director. He is often credited as Frank Kramer. Among his films are ''The Sabata Trilogy'', several sword and sandal films, most of the Kommissar X films and a number of Spaghetti Westerns. He claimed to have written over 100 thriller novels before becoming an assistant to Giuseppe D'Amato. Vassili Karis (born Vassilis Karamesinis on 22 September 1938) is a Greek-born Italian actor, mainly active in the Spaghetti Western film genre. Ivano Staccioli (3 January 1927 – 15 July 1995) was an Italian film actor. Staccioli made 70 appearances between 1960 and 1991, mostly in film. He is best known for his appearances in historical adventures and action or western films in the 1960s. Particularly in the early 1960s he appeared in many gladiatorial films or ancient epics. In 1965 he starred in the western ''30 Winchester per El Diablo'' and '' A 008, operazione Sterminio'', a spoof of the James Bond genre. In the mid to late 1960s he was often credited as John Heston for Italian films dubbed for the American audience, particularly his westerns.
