''The Sun Never Sets'' is the third album by Australian hip hop band The Herd and was released on 3 October 2005. The album was selected as the Triple J and 2SER 'Album of the Week' and was nominated for the inaugural Triple J - J Award for Australian Album of the year. The album debuted at #3 on the AIR independent album charts. In October 2005, The Herd performed a cover of Redgum's classic anti-war song " I Was Only 19" on Triple J's ‘Like a Version’ radio program. The song became one of the most heavily requested songs on the station. The Herd's version of " I Was Only 19" was voted in at #18 in the 2005 Triple J Hottest 100 playlist. It was credited to Schumann, Cheung, Fellows, Harrison and Kennedy. John Schumann
John Lewis Schumann (born 18 May 1953) is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist from Adelaide. He is best known as the lead singer for the folk group Redgum, with their chart-topping hit " I Was Only 19 (A Walk in the Light Green)", a song exploring the psychological and medical side-effects of serving in the Australian forces during the Vietnam War. The song's sales assisted Vietnam Veterans during the 1983 Royal Commission into the effects of Agent Orange and other chemical defoliants employed during the war. Schumann was an Australian Democrats candidate in the 1998 federal election, narrowly failing to unseat Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer for the Division of Mayo. Frenzal Rhomb
Frenzal Rhomb are an Australian punk rock band that formed in 1992 in Sydney. Three of the group's albums have entered the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart: ''A Man's Not a Camel'' (1999), '' Hi-Vis High Tea'' (2017) and ''Smoko at the Pet Food Factory'' (2011). Lindsay McDougall
Lindsay "The Doctor" McDougall (born 9 March 1978) is an Australian rock guitarist and radio presenter. Since 1996, he has been the lead guitarist in punk rock band, Frenzal Rhomb alongside lead singer Jay Whalley. He has co-written songs with fellow band members including their highest charting single, "You Are Not My Friend". During 2003 McDougall organised ''Rock Against Howard'', a compilation album, by various Australian musicians as a protest against incumbent Prime Minister, John Howard's government. Jason Whalley
Jay and the Doctor are the on-air names of Australian radio duo Jason Whalley and Lindsay McDougall, on radio station Triple J. Best known as members of punk band Frenzal Rhomb, they performed occasional late-night shifts on Triple J until 2004. They temporarily replaced Chris Taylor and Craig Reucassel for six weeks in late 2004 while The Chaser Decides covered the federal election. On 26 November 2004, Jay and the Doctor were announced as the hosts of the Breakfast Show in 2005. The announcement was highly built up by incumbent hosts Adam & Wil. Tim Levinson, better known by the stage name Urthboy, is an Australian hip hop MC and producer from New South Wales. Braintax
Joe Christie, better known as Braintax, is a British hip hop artist and producer. Christie had also recorded or appeared under the pseudonyms Brando Flux and Joey Brains. All of his releases were on his own record label, Low Life Records. Originally Braintax was a duo, consisting of Christie and DJ Test, who also contributed vocals and production. Test departed following the 1997 release of the '' Future Years'' EP and Christie retained the Braintax name; it has since become synonymous with him as a solo artist. Kenneth Spencer Sabir (born ca. 1975), is an Australian musician, computer programmer, record label founder and event organiser. In 1998 Sabir co-founded an independent record label, Elefant Traks.
