The Sun Came Out
''The Sun Came Out'' is a charity studio album released on 31 August 2009 by 7 Worlds Collide, a musical project of New Zealand singer/songwriter Neil Finn for the benefit of Oxfam. The album was recorded at Finn's Roundhead Studios and is a follow up to the 7 Worlds Collide (album), 7 Worlds Collide live album of 2001. Contributors to the project include 7 Worlds Collide's 2001 alumni Johnny Marr, Ed O'Brien, Sebastian Steinberg, Phil Selway, Lisa Germano, Tim Finn and Liam Finn; as well as Don McGlashan, Bic Runga, Glenn Richards, KT Tunstall and Wilco members Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone. The album was produced by Jim Scott (producer), Jim Scott and Neil Finn with additional production by Neil Baldock and is available as a single CD or as a double CD edition, it was also released on Vinyl LP. Phil Selway
Philip James Selway (born 23 May 1967) is an English musician and the drummer of the English rock band Radiohead. Along with the other members of Radiohead, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. Selway released his debut solo album, '' Familial'', in 2010, followed by '' Weatherhouse'' in 2014. He also composed the soundtrack for the 2017 film ''Let Me Go''. Jim Scott (producer)
Jim Scott is an American record producer and audio engineer, best known for his large body of work as an engineer, and his work as a producer with American rock bands Tedeschi Trucks Band and Wilco. Scott has worked as engineer with a range of other rock music artists, including Dixie Chicks, Tom Petty, Sting, the Rolling Stones, Crowded House, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lowen & Navarro, Jack's Mannequin, Ron Sexsmith, The Mastersons and many others. Pat Sansone
Patrick Anthony "Pat" Sansone (born June 21, 1969) is an American multi-instrumentalist in the rock bands Wilco and The Autumn Defense. Early bands Sansone was born in Meridian, Mississippi. Upon entering college at The University of Southern Mississippi, Sansone found two musical kindred souls in Will Martin and Eddie Bo McRaney and started Beagle Voyage, a power trio influenced by Minutemen, Hüsker Dü, The Who, and Rush. Sansone played guitar for Beagle Voyage and then Stretch Armstrong, a rock band influenced by Black Sabbath and the Butthole Surfers. Soon after, Sansone formed the band Birdy, which included fellow Mississippians Tray Batson, Ike Marr and Glen Graham, who went on to play drums for Blind Melon. Glenn Kotche
Glenn Kotche (born December 31, 1970 in Roselle, Illinois, United States) is an American drummer and composer, best known for his involvement in the band Wilco. He was named the 40th greatest drummer of all time by Gigwise in 2008. Prior to working with Wilco, Kotche released a four-track album entitled ''Introducing''. In 2003, he released a second solo album titled ''Next'', featuring solo drum improvisations using homemade percussion installations. A third solo album was released in March 2006 on Nonesuch Records, entitled ''Mobile''. This album featured a broad range of compositions for percussion. John Stirratt
John Chadwick Stirratt is an American bassist and multi-instrumentalist for Wilco and The Autumn Defense. Early career Stirratt grew up in Mandeville, Louisiana. He attended Mandeville High School and the University of Mississippi, and is a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He played regularly around the American South with The Hilltops, a band based in Oxford, Mississippi, that included his twin sister Laurie Stirratt and her husband Cary Hudson. During this time he met and befriended the band Uncle Tupelo and supported them on tours of the East and Midwest. After the breakup of The Hilltops in 1990 Stirratt recorded a record under the name ''The Gimmecaps'' and briefly joined the Lafayette, Louisiana, band The Bluerunners before joining Uncle Tupelo in 1992 as bassist/guitarist on their last album ''Anodyne''. Jeffrey Scot Tweedy (born August 25, 1967) is an American musician, songwriter, author, and record producer best known as the singer and guitarist of the band Wilco. Tweedy, originally from Belleville, Illinois, started his music career in high school in his band The Plebes with Jay Farrar, which subsequently transitioned into the alternative country band Uncle Tupelo. Wilco
Wilco is an American alternative rock band based in Chicago, Illinois. The band was formed in 1994 by the remaining members of alternative country group Uncle Tupelo following singer Jay Farrar's departure. Glenn Anthony Richards (born 29 December 1973) is an Australian musician, best known as the mainstay guitarist singer-songwriter for the Australian rock band Augie March. Early life Richards was born in Shepparton, Victoria on 29 December 1973. Richards saved up enough money to buy his first guitar by working long hours on the docks in Fremantle, Western Australia. Briolette Kah Bic Runga (born 13 January 1976), recording as Bic Runga, is a New Zealand singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist pop artist. Her first three studio albums debuted at number one on the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand, New Zealand Top 40 Album charts. Donald McGlashan (born 18 July 1959) is a New Zealand composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist who Is best known for membership in the bands Blam Blam Blam, The Front Lawn, and The Mutton Birds, before going solo. He has also composed for cinema and television. Among other instruments, McGlashan has played guitar, drums, euphonium and French horn. McGlashan has played with percussion group From Scratch, and bands The Bellbirds, The Plague, and composed pieces for New Zealand's Limbs Dance Company.
