Space
Space is the boundless three-dimensional extent in which objects and events have relative position and direction. In classical physics, physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions, although modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of a boundless four-dimensional continuum known as spacetime. The concept of space is considered to be of fundamental importance to an understanding of the physical universe. However, disagreement continues between philosophers over whether it is itself an entity, a relationship between entities, or part of a conceptual framework. Debates concerning the nature, essence and the mode of existence of space date back to antiquity; namely, to treatises like the ''Timaeus'' of Plato, or Socrates in his reflections on what the Greeks called ''khôra'' (i.e. "space"), or in the ''Physics'' of Aristotle (Book IV, Delta) in the definition of ''topos'' (i.e. place), or in the later "geometrical conception of place" as "spac ...

Space (Baxter Novel)
''Manifold: Space'' is a science fiction book by British author Stephen Baxter, first published in the United Kingdom in 2000, then released in the United States in 2001. It is the second book of the ''Manifold'' series and examines another possible solution to the Fermi paradox. Although it is in no sense a sequel to the first book it contains a number of the same characters, notably protagonist Reid Malenfant, and similar artefacts. The Manifold series contains four books, '' Manifold: Time'', ''Manifold: Space'', '' Manifold: Origin'', and ''Phase Space''. Plot summary Alien activity is discovered in a Kirkwood gap; the aliens are identified as self-replicating machines (von Neumann probes). Their activity is potentially an immense threat, as Malenfant notes in an earlier speech: "A target system, we assume, is uninhabited. We can therefore program for massive and destructive exploitation of the system's resources, without restraint, by the probe. Such resources are useles ...

Space (Prince Song)
"Space" is a song by American musician Prince from his 1994 album ''Come''. The B-side of the single is actually the album track. The A-side is the Universal Love Radio Remix of "Space", with completely new lyrics. In the album version of "Space" Prince sings about being obsessed with a lover and wanting to take their love higher comparing to the likes of space whereas the Universal Love Remix features a rap from Prince at the end which is lyrically similar to his smash hit "When Doves Cry" with a new bridge saying "All the pain that a human has to go through, in a planet that's so bitter and cold / Universal love awaits you, baby all you got to say is that you really, really, really wanna go / And we're outta here". Critical reception Larry Flick from ''Billboard'' stated that the song "follows the cozy funk/ pop of the previous "Letitgo"." He added, "Unlike his past releases, this track reflects current trends rather than dictating them. Of the five mixes included on the CD pre ...

Space (Jimmy Cauty Album)
''Space'' is a 1990 ambient house concept album by Jimmy Cauty under the alias Space. Originally intended to be The Orb's debut album, ''Space'' was refactored for release as a solo album following Cauty's departure from that group. ''Space'' was independently released on KLF Communications, the record label formed to distribute the work of Cauty's other project, The KLF. Origins ''Space'' began as a collaboration between Dr. Alex Paterson and Jimmy Cauty, the original line-up of The Orb. Cauty's record label KLF Communications planned to release it as The Orb's debut album, but when Cauty left The Orb in April 1990 to concentrate on producing music as The KLF with Bill Drummond, he took the recordings with him. Reworked to remove Paterson's contributions, the album was released by KLF Communications in July 1990 as an eponymous album, with Cauty alone receiving credit. Youth, a friend and colleague of both men, recalled: "Jimmy and Alex were making an album called Space when the ...
