The Soul Purpose
''The Soul Purpose'' is the debut studio album from Boston underground hip hop duo 7L & Esoteric. The album was released on July 24, 2001. After years of doing guest verses for other acts, and releasing songs such as "Be Alert" on their own; the duo managed to garner significant hype in the underground hip hop community. They even received press in '' The Source'', and attracted enough attention to get a guest verse from Inspectah Deck. All of this culminated into a record deal with Landspeed, 9 years after the group's original formation. Vincenzo Luvineri (born October 5, 1977), better known as Vinnie Paz (formerly known as Ikon the Verbal Hologram), is a Sicilian Americans, Sicilian American rapper and producer behind the Philadelphia underground hip hop group Jedi Mind Tricks. He is also the frontman of the hip hop collective Army of the Pharaohs. He released his first solo album, ''Season of the Assassin'', in 2010. Jason Richard Hunter (born July 6, 1970), better known by his stage name Inspectah Deck, is an American rapper, producer, and actor. He is a member of the groups Wu-Tang Clan and Czarface. He has acquired critical praise for his intricate lyricism, and for his verses on many of the group's most revered songs. Corey Isiah Christie (born August 24, 1977), better known as Reks (styled in all caps as REKS), is an American rapper. Reks emerged from Lawrence, Massachusetts' underground rap scene. His debut underground album, ''Along Came The Chosen'', was released on Brick Records in 2001. Reks has released eight additional albums and has appeared on various albums and mixtapes.
