''The Son of Wallingford'' is a 1921 American silent comedy drama film directed by George Randolph Chester and Lillian Josephine Chester and starring Wilfrid North, Tom Gallery and Antrim Short.Connelly p.413 It is based on George Chester's novel ''The Son of Wallingford'' about a confidence trickster, itself inspired by his ''Cosmopolitan'' articles and an earlier hit play '' Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford''. It was shot at Vitagraph's Flatbush Studios in Brooklyn. It was released by Vitagraph a couple of months before a Paramount Pictures version of '' Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford''. George Randolph Chester
George Randolph Chester (January 27, 1869 – February 26, 1924) was an American writer and screenwriter, film editor, and director. Biography Chester was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 27, 1869. He was the author of such popular works such as '' Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford'' and '' Five Thousand an Hour: How Johnny Gamble Won the Heiress'' that were made into silent films within his lifetime. His success in selling stories to ''The Saturday Evening Post'' and leaving his position with the ''Cincinnati Enquirer'' and moving to New York City to write fiction was the impetus for James Bearsley Hendryx to buy a typewriter and try his hand at writing fiction. Chester's first wife, Elizabeth Chester (whom he had married in Davenport, Iowa in July, 1895), divorced George in 1911, using the evidence that he was living at Gainsborough Studios in London with Lillian Josephine Chester. American comedy films are comedy films produced in the United States. Margaret Cullington (1885-1925) was an American actress. Born in New Rochelle, New York, she was an overlooked character player, who made her debut in 1916 doing shorts for Universal and supporting George Ovey in Cub Comedies, sometimes with her first husband Louis Fitzroy. She played with him in '' A Merry Mix-up (1916)'' and '' Jerry's Strategem (1916).'' She soon appeared in features like ''Betty Takes a Hand (1918), Wolves of the Border (1923),'' and ''Excitement.'' She worked mostly in short comedies and she worked on regular basis in Christie Comedies and Reggie Morris '' Speed Comedies'' for Arrow. Her only major starring role was as Maggie in the three ''Bringing Up Father'' two reelers by Al Christies, which was produced in 1920. She died on 18 July, 1925.
