Slavery and enslavement are both the state and the condition of being a slave—someone forbidden to quit one's service for an enslaver, and who is treated by the enslaver as property. Slavery typically involves slaves being made to perform some form of work while also having their location or residence dictated by the enslaver. Slaves (American Band)
Rain City Drive is an American post-hardcore band from Sacramento, California, United States, formed in 2014 under the name Slaves. They released three studio albums, '' Through Art We Are All Equals'' on June 24, 2014, '' Routine Breathing'' on August 21, 2015 and '' Beautiful Death'' on February 16, 2018 with founding member and original lead vocalist Jonny Craig. Craig departed from the band in 2019 and was replaced by Matt McAndrew, with whom they released their fourth studio album, '' To Better Days'' on August 7, 2020. This was their final album to be released under the band name Slaves. On October 15, 2021, the band announced that they had changed their name to Rain City and signed to independent record label Thriller Records. This album was partially recorded at Fascination Street in Sweden, and the vocals developed with Heidi Solberg Tveitan and Ihsahn at Mnemosyne Studios in Norway. "Slave" is a song by the English rock band the Rolling Stones on their 1981 album ''Tattoo You''. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, "Slave" was originally recorded in Rotterdam, Netherlands (under the working title "Vagina"), using the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio in late January or early February 1975. During that time, the Rolling Stones were faced with the unexpected challenge of filling the recently vacated position of second guitarist, after the abrupt departure of Mick Taylor. The track features Billy Preston on electric piano and organ (although the organ could also have been played by Ian Stewart). The Who's Pete Townshend provided backing vocals for the recording and one of saxophonist Sonny Rollins' three performances on tracks for the album appeared as well. Percussion by Ollie E.
