The Sketchersons
The Sketchersons are a sketch comedy troupe based in Toronto, Ontario. They are winners of the 2007 Canadian Comedy Award for best Sketch Troupe, an award they had been nominated for each of the 3 years prior. The Sketchersons were again nominated for the award in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2013. The Sketchersons have performed across Canada and the United States, including at the 2005 and 2006 Montreal Fringe Festivals, the 2006 New York Fringe Festival, the 2008 Just For Laughs Sketch Comedy Gala in Toronto, the 2009 Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, and at the 2012 JFL42 Festival. Members of the troupe are also active in Toronto's comedy scene and can be seen at various shows around the city including Laugh Sabbath, The Last Comedy Show and Projectproject amongst others. Saturday Night Live
''Saturday Night Live'' (often abbreviated to ''SNL'') is an American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show created by Lorne Michaels and developed by Dick Ebersol that airs on NBC and Peacock. Michaels currently serves as the program's showrunner. The show premiere was hosted by George Carlin on NBC on October 11, 1975, under the original title ''NBC's Saturday Night''. The show's comedy sketches, which often parody contemporary culture and politics, are performed by a large and varying cast of repertory and newer cast members. Each episode is hosted by a celebrity guest, who usually delivers the opening monologue and performs in sketches with the cast, with featured performances by a musical guest. Ryan Michael Malcolm (born October 13, 1979) is a Canadian singer and realtor best known as the winner of the first season of ''Canadian Idol''. In 2003, he released his debut solo album ''Home'' which was certified Platinum in Canada. In 2006, Malcolm formed a new alternative rock band, Low Level Flight. David Miller (Canadian Politician)
David Raymond Miller (born December 26, 1958) is an American-Canadian lawyer and former politician who served as the 63rd mayor of Toronto from 2003 to 2010. Following his career in politics, Miller briefly returned to law before serving as president and CEO of the World Wildlife Fund Canada (WWF-Canada) from 2013 to 2017, after which he began working as the director of international diplomacy at C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. Don Ferguson (born May 30, 1946) is a Canadian actor, writer, and producer and is one of the stars of the ''Royal Canadian Air Farce''. He and Dave Broadfoot were the only Canadian-born original cast members of ''Air Farce''. In 1998, Ferguson and the original Air Farce cast of Roger Abbott, Luba Goy, and John Morgan received the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement, Canada's highest honour in the performing arts. Royal Canadian Air Farce
The Royal Canadian Air Farce was a comedy troupe that was active from 1973 to 2019. It is best known for their various Canadian Broadcasting Corporation series, first on CBC Radio and later on CBC Television. Although their weekly radio series ended in 1997 and their television series ended in 2008, the troupe produced annual New Year's Eve specials on CBC Television until 2019. CBC announced that, due to budgetary constraints, the special scheduled to air on December 30, 2019 would be the final in the series. The Brunswick House
The Brunswick House, known colloquially as the "Brunny" and sometimes advertised as "Ye Olde Brunswick House", was a well known pub in the Toronto neighbourhood The Annex. At its closure in 2016, the Brunswick House was one of the oldest such establishments still in operation in Toronto, as it was founded in 1876. Snow
Snow comprises individual ice crystals that grow while suspended in the atmosphere—usually within clouds—and then fall, accumulating on the ground where they undergo further changes. Scott Thompson (comedian)
Scott Thompson (born June 12, 1959) is a Canadian comedian and actor, best known for being a member of the comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall and for playing Brian on ''The Larry Sanders Show''. Early life Thompson, born John Scott Thompson, named after his uncle and later changed for the stage, was born in North Bay, Ontario, and grew up in Brampton. He is the second oldest of five boys. He attended Brampton Centennial Secondary School and was a witness to the 1975 Centennial Secondary School shooting. Amanda Walsh (born October 3, 1981) is a Canadian actress, writer, and former VJ for the Canadian television station MuchMusic. Early life Walsh was born in Rigaud, Quebec.
