''The Siren of Seville'' is a 1924 American silent adventure film directed by Jerome Storm and Hunt Stromberg, and starring Priscilla Dean. Plot As described in a review in a film magazine, Gallito (Forrest), a Spanish peasant lad, longs to be a matador. Chance brings the great bull fighter Pedro (Betz) past his farm as he is fighting a fake bull and he is amused. Gallito’s sweetheart Dolores (Dean) resents this but on learning Pedro’s identity makes him promise to help Gallito. Later, they journey to Seville, Pedro has forgotten his promise but Dolores threatens to cut off his pigtail if he does not make good. Jerome Storm (November 11, 1890 – July 10, 1958) was an American film director, actor, and writer. He acted in 48 films between 1914 and 1941 and directed 47 films between 1918 and 1932. He was born in Denver, Colorado, and died in Desert Hot Springs, California. Bert Woodruff
William Herbert "Bert" Woodruff (April 29, 1856 – June 14, 1934) was an American actor of the silent era. Woodruff was born in Peoria, Illinois, and was the son of Mrs. Hannah Woodruff. He performed on stage before he began acting on film, debuting in 1876 as part of the Woodruff and West song-and-dance act. His performances included blackface comedy and Irish specialties. In 1882, he became part of the Adelphi Theater stock company in Peoria, where he worked for seven years. In 1898, Woodruff moved into management, opening a vaudeville theater in Peoria and managing it until 1904. From there he went to Redondo Beach, California, where he opened the city's first theater for films. He appeared in more than 60 films between 1916 and 1931. Eye Filmmuseum is a film archive, museum, and cinema in Amsterdam that preserves and presents both Dutch and foreign films screened in the Netherlands. Location and history Eye Filmmuseum is located in the Overhoeks neighborhood of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Its predecessor was the Dutch Historical Film Archive, founded in 1946 by David van Staveren, Felix Halverstad, and directors of Filmtheater Kriterion Piet Meerburg and Paul Kijzer. Marion Aye
Marion Aye (April 5, 1903 – July 21, 1951) was an American actress of screen and stage who starred in several films during the 1920s, mostly comedies. She was sometimes credited as Maryon Aye. Early life Born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of attorney James H. Aye, she began her career at Balboa Studios in Long Beach. She was later "discovered" by producer Mack Sennett, who made her one of his Sennett Bathing Beauties, Bathing Beauties. Career Aye was selected as one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars in 1922. She was a capable dancer, a talent she exhibited in several films. Aye was Larry Semon's leading lady in ''The Hick'' and worked with Stan Laurel in ''The Weak-End Party''. She appeared in eighteen western shorts opposite Bob Reeves (actor), Bob Reeves. When she signed a long-term film contract she became the first Hollywood star to agree to a morality clause.
