The Sicilian Connection
''The Sicilian Connection'' ( it, Afyon oppio, french: Action héroïne, also known as ''The Opium Connection'' and ''La filière'') is a 1972 Italian- French crime-thriller film directed by Ferdinando Baldi. Plot The Italian-American Joseph Coppola wants to start trafficking drugs from Turkey to the United States and calls for the support of the Sicilian Mafia, who would protect him from the Marseilles Clan. In the U.S., however, he appears to forget the chords. Greed or double play? Ferdinando Baldi
Ferdinando Baldi (19 May 1917 – 12 September 2007) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Biography Baldi was born in Cava de' Tirreni, Salerno, on 19 May 1917. His early film work began in Italy in the early 1950s with films such as ''Il Prezzo dell'Onore''. He directed Orson Welles in the films ''David and Goliath'' and '' The Tartars''. Baldi died in Italy on 12 September 2007. Bruno Corazzari (born 30 December 1940) is an Italian film, television and stage actor. Life and career Born in Castellarano, Reggio Emilia, Corazzari started his career in the second half of the sixties, playing minor roles in a number of Spaghetti Western films, usually being cast as a bad gunslinger and a member of the villain's band. In a few years he played roles of greater weight in other genres, namely giallo, poliziotteschi and adventure films. He was also active in art films, working with Marco Bellocchio, Franco Brocani and Maurizio Ponzi, among others.
