Lynn Reynolds
Lynn Fairfield Reynolds (May 7, 1889 – February 25, 1927) was an American director and screenwriter. Reynolds directed more than 80 films between 1915 and 1928. He also wrote for 58 films between 1914 and 1927. Reynolds was born in Harlan, Iowa and died in Los Angeles, California, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Death Returning home in 1927 after being snowbound in the Sierras for three weeks, Reynolds telephoned his wife, actress Kathleen O'Connor, to arrange a dinner party at their Hollywood home with another couple. During the dinner, Reynolds and O'Connor engaged in a heated quarrel in which each accused the other of infidelity. With his guests following in an attempt to calm him down, Reynolds left the table to retrieve a pistol from another room where he shot himself in the head. Jean Pierre Carl Buron (12 July 1886 – 2 June 1956), known professionally as Jean Hersholt, was a Danish-American actor. He is best known for starring on the radio series '' Dr. Christian'' (1937–1954) and in the film ''Heidi'' (1937).Obituary ''Variety'', 6 June 1956, p. 63. Asked how to pronounce his name, he told ''The Literary Digest'', "In English, ''her'sholt''; in Danish, ''hairs'hult''." Of his total credits, 75 were silent films and 65 were sound films (140 total); he directed four. Early life Hersholt was born Jean Pierre Carl Buron in Copenhagen, Denmark. Waldemar Young
Waldemar Young (July 1, 1878 – August 30, 1938) was an American screenwriter. He wrote for more than 80 films between 1917 and 1938. Biography He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and died in Hollywood, California from pneumonia. Waldemar was a grandson of Brigham Young. He was also a brother of Mahonri Young. Young joined the staff of the '' Salt Lake Herald'' after he graduated from high school. He then went to Stanford University starting in 1900. At Stanford, he played on the football team. He majored in English but also studied economics and history. Young did not finish his studies at Stanford. Instead, he took jobs with the ''San Francisco Chronicle'' and the ''San Francisco Examiner''. In 1912, Young married Elizabeth Haight, who was a great-niece of the early California Mormon leader, Sam Brannan.
