The Shore (band)
The Shore is an American psychedelic rock group formed in 2002 in Los Angeles, California. They were signed to Maverick Records in 2002 and released their self-titled debut album in 2004. After Maverick was shut down, they independently released their second and third studio albums, ''Light Years'' and ''Second Sight'', in 2008 and 2014, respectively. History Singer-songwriter and guitarist Ben Ashley moved from his hometown of Philadelphia to Los Angeles and recorded a set of demos with producer Rick Parker in the spring of 2002. Guitarist Kyle Mullarky, bassist Cliff Magreta, and drummer John Wilmer were brought on to contribute to the demos, and eventually formed The Shore with Ashley after Parker found A&R for the group, which led to a record deal with Maverick Records. The Shore's debut self-titled studio album was written over the course of three months by Ashley and produced and mixed by Parker. ''The State Press'' is the independent, student-operated news publication of Arizona State University. In August 2014, it became an all-digital publication. It published a free newspaper every weekday until January 2013, at which point its print distribution was reduced to once per week. The editorial board announced that ASU Student Media will begin to focus on "a host of new digital products and special print products." Compact Disc
The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. In August 1982, the first compact disc was manufactured. It was then released in October 1982 in Japan and branded as ''Compact Disc Digital Audio, Digital Audio Compact Disc''. The format was later adapted (as CD-ROM) for general-purpose data storage. Gram Parsons
Ingram Cecil Connor III (November 5, 1946 – September 19, 1973) who was known professionally as Gram Parsons, was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist who recorded as a solo artist and with the International Submarine Band, the Byrds, and the Flying Burrito Brothers, popularizing what he called "Cosmic American Music", a hybrid of country, rhythm and blues, Soul music, soul, Folk music, folk, and Rock music, rock. Parsons was born in Winter Haven, Florida, and developed an interest in country music while attending Harvard University. He founded the International Submarine Band in 1966, but the group disbanded prior to the 1968 release of its debut album, ''Safe at Home''. Parsons joined the Byrds in early 1968 and played a pivotal role in the making of the ''Sweetheart of the Rodeo'' album, a seminal album in the country rock genre. Neil Percival Young (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian-American singer and songwriter. Oasis (band)
Oasis were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991. Originally known as the Rain, the group initially consisted of Liam Gallagher (lead vocals, tambourine), Paul Arthurs (guitar), Paul McGuigan (bass guitar) and Tony McCarroll (drums). Liam's older brother Noel (lead guitar, vocals) later joined as a fifth member, finalising the group's core lineup.
