The Sender
''The Sender'' is a 1982 British psychological horror thriller film directed by Roger Christian and written by Thomas Baum. It stars Kathryn Harrold, Željko Ivanek (in his film debut), Shirley Knight, and Paul Freeman. Plot A young, disheveled-looking man is awakened on the side of a road by passing traffic. He walks to a nearby lake and attempts to drown himself by filling his clothing with rocks and walking into the water, but is pulled out and taken to a nearby mental hospital for treatment. He is suffering from retrograde amnesia, unable to remember his name or details of his personal life, other that he lives in a house within several miles and has no father to speak of. Without any form of identification, the patient is designated “John Doe #83”, and placed under the care of psychiatrist Dr. Gail Farmer. Roger Christian (filmmaker)
Roger Christian (born 25 February 1944) is an English set decorator, production designer and feature film director. He won an Academy Awards, Academy Award for his work on the original ''Star Wars (film), Star Wars'' and was Oscar-nominated for his work on ''Alien (film), Alien''. Christian directed the second unit on both ''Return of the Jedi'' and ''Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace'' as well as feature films including ''The Sender'' and ''Nostradamus (1994 film), Nostradamus''. He also directed the 2000 film ''Battlefield Earth (film), Battlefield Earth'' which is regarded as one of the List of films considered the worst, worst films ever made. Al Matthews (actor)
Alexander Basil Matthews (November 21, 1942 – September 22, 2018) was an American actor and singer, best known for his appearance as Gunnery Sergeant Apone in the James Cameron film '' Aliens'' (1986). He reprised his role 27 years later, providing the voice of Apone for the video game '' Aliens: Colonial Marines'' (2013). Matthews' portrayal of Apone was the inspiration for Sgt. Avery Johnson of the Halo franchise. Military career Matthews was a member of the United States Marine Corps who graduated at Parris Island on May 25, 1966, and served during the Vietnam War. Id (psychology)
The id, ego, and super-ego are a set of three concepts in psychoanalytic theory describing distinct, interacting agents in the psychic apparatus (defined in Sigmund Freud's structural model of the psyche). The three agents are theoretical constructs that describe the activities and interactions of the mental life of a person.
