The Secret River (TV Series)
''The Secret River'' is an Australian television drama screened on ABC in June 2015. This two-part miniseries is based on the novel of the same name written by Kate Grenville. It follows the story of young couple, William and Sal Thornhill, who are transported to the new colony of New South Wales in 1805, giving a look into the colonisation of Australia and the escalating conflict between the original Indigenous inhabitants and the newly arrived white convicts and settlers. Catherine Elizabeth Grenville (born 1950) is an Australian author. She has published fifteen books, including fiction, non-fiction, biography, and books about the writing process. In 2001, she won the Orange Prize for '' The Idea of Perfection'', and in 2006 she won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for ''The Secret River''. Trevor Jamieson (born 7 March 1975) is an Aboriginal Australian stage and film actor, playwright, dancer, singer and didgeridoo player. Early life Trevor Jamieson was born on 7 March 1975 in Subiaco, Western Australia (WA). He grew up in the Western Australian Goldfields region, mostly around Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Western Australia, Norseman, Western Australia, but his people are mostly of the Central Desert, in particular Nullarbor and Maralinga. He has links to Pitjantjara (on his father's side), Kukatja, and other groups, including the Noongar peoples of south-western WA (on his mother's side).
