The Secret (Dark Horse Comics)
''The Secret'' is a 4-issue limited series comic book written by Mike Richardson and drawn by Jason Shawn Alexander. It was released by Dark Horse Comics in 2007. It was later converted to a Motion comic. Plot Synopsis High-school student Tommy Morris attends a party at his friend Pam's house where students prank call a random number and say "I know your secret" and tells the person on the other end to meet them at a local park at midnight. Pam calls a man who replies in a monstrous voice "How do you know my secret?" Shortly after, Pam disappears mysteriously. With the police not helping, Tommy must work alone to discover who was on the phone that night and what happened to Pam. Collected Editions The series was collected as a trade paperback in 2007. Dark Horse Comics is an American comic book, graphic novel, and manga publisher founded in Milwaukie, Oregon by Mike Richardson in 1986. The company was created using funds earned from Richardson's chain of Portland, Oregon comic book shops known as Pegasus Books and founded in 1980. Dark Horse Comics has emerged as the fourth largest comic publishing company in the United States of America. Mike Richardson (publisher)
Mike Richardson (born June 29, 1950) is an American publisher, writer, and Emmy-winning producer. In 1986, he founded Dark Horse Comics, an award-winning international publishing house located in Milwaukie, Oregon. Richardson is also the founder and President of the Things From Another World retail chain and president of Dark Horse Entertainment, which has developed and produced numerous projects for film and television based on Dark Horse properties or licensed properties. In addition, he has written numerous graphic novels and comics series, including '' The Secret'', '' Living with the Dead'', and ''Cut'' as well as co-authoring two non-fiction books: '' Comics Between the Panels'' and '' Blast Off!''. Jason Shawn Alexander
Jason Shawn Alexander or J. Alexander (born c. 1975) is a Painting, painter, illustrator and drawing, draftsman from Portland, Tennessee. Alexander has produced illustrations for Dark Horse Comics, Warner Brothers, DC Comics, Hasbro, White Wolf, Inc, and Dalmatian Press. His creator-owned ''Empty Zone'' was published for years by Sirius Entertainment. He also contributed to ''Poison Elves: Lusiphur and Linlith'', also for Sirius Entertainment. Brad Martin, a contributing writer with ''Juxtapoz'' magazine, describes Alexander's fine art pieces thus: "His gritty, drippy, and dark style lends an ominous air, like a fresh grave, and the subject's poses humanize the whole thing." Comic Book
A comic book, also called comicbook, comic magazine or (in the United Kingdom and Ireland) simply comic, is a publication that consists of comics art in the form of sequential juxtaposed panels that represent individual scenes. Panels are often accompanied by descriptive prose and written narrative, usually, dialogue contained in word balloons emblematic of the comics art form. "Comic Cuts" was a British comic published from 1890 to 1953. It was preceded by "Ally Sloper's Half Holiday" (1884) which is notable for its use of sequential cartoons to unfold narrative. Motion Comics
A motion comic (or animated comic) is a form of animation combining elements of print comic books and animation. Individual panels are expanded into a full shot while sound effects, voice acting, and animation are added to the original artwork. Text boxes, speech bubbles and the onomatopoeia are typically removed to feature more of the original artwork being animated. Motion comics are often released as short serials covering a story arc of a long running series or animating a single release of a graphic novel. Single release issues of a story arc are converted into ten- to twenty-minute-long episodes depending on content. In comics in the United States, a trade paperback (shortened: TPB or trade) is a collection of stories originally published in comic books, reprinted in book format, usually presenting either a complete miniseries, a story arc from a single title, or a series of stories with an arc or common theme. A trade paperback may reproduce the stories either at the same size in which they were originally presented (in comic book format), in a smaller "digest-sized" format, or a larger-than-original hardcover. Geek & Sundry is a commercial YouTube and Twitch channel and multimedia production company. It was launched on April 2, 2012 by actress Felicia Day with Kim Evey and Sheri Bryant as part of YouTube's 100 million dollar original channel initiative. In June 2012, ''Forbes'' suggested that "if successful, it could help blaze a trail for the future of network television." In 2014, Geek & Sundry was acquired by Legendary Entertainment. The company is primarily known for their launch of the D&D show ''Critical Role'', which aired on their channels from 2015–19.
