The S.L.P.
THE S.L.P. is the solo musical project of Serge Pizzorno, the guitarist and lead songwriter of the rock band Kasabian. The name comes from the initials of his full name, Sergio Lorenzo Pizzorno. Its debut single, "Favourites", featured rapper Little Simz. It was released 14 May 2019, debuting on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Annie Mac. The second single, "Nobody Else", was released 20 June 2019 and also debuted on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Annie Mac. At the same time a headline tour of the UK and Europe was announced, including two shows at London's EaRTh and concerts in Italy, Germany, and The Netherlands. Pizzorno conceived the project while Kasabian was on a one-year hiatus, when he found himself wanting to explore the "extreme sides of my personality" as "an outlet to keep me sane". Alternative Dance
Alternative dance (also known as indie dance or underground dance in the U.S.) is a musical genre that mixes alternative rock with electronic dance music. Although largely confined to the British Isles, it has gained American and worldwide exposure through acts such as New Order in the 1980s and the Prodigy in the 1990s. Kasabian
Kasabian ( ) are an English rock band formed in Leicester in 1997 by lead vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and occasional vocalist Sergio Pizzorno, guitarist Chris Karloff, and bassist Chris Edwards. Drummer Ian Matthews joined in 2004. Karloff left the band in 2006 and founded a new band called Black Onassis. Jay Mehler joined as touring lead guitarist in 2006, leaving for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013, to be replaced by Tim Carter, who later became a full-time band member in 2021. Meighan left the band in July 2020, with Pizzorno stepping up as full-time lead vocalist. In 2010 and 2014, Kasabian won the Q Awards for "Best Act in the World Today", while they were also named "Best Live Act" at the 2014 Q Awards and the 2007 and 2018 NME Awards. Sergio Lorenzo "Serge" Pizzorno (born 15 December 1980) is a British guitarist, singer and songwriter, best known for his work with the rock band Kasabian. He is Kasabian's primary songwriter since the departure of co-composer Christopher Karloff in 2006, and also the band's co-lead singer, and later being the sole lead singer following the 2020 sacking of Tom Meighan. He is also a member of Loose Tapestries alongside Noel Fielding and fellow Kasabian member Tim Carter, a group put together to produce music for Fielding's TV series ''Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy''. Annie Mac (born 18 July 1978), is an Irish DJ, broadcaster and writer. She hosted a variety of shows on BBC Radio 1, including BBC Switch and ''Future Sounds''. She also DJed in various locations, including hosting her AMP (Annie Mac Presents) Lost and Found venues in places like Ibiza. Personal life Annie Mac was born in Dublin, Ireland on 18 July 1978. After attending Wesley College in Dublin, she studied English literature at Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland. Annie lives in Queen's Park, London. Aitor Throup (born 1980, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an artist, designer and creative director. Throup is best known for his menswear label 'New Object Research' which has shown at London Fashion Week Men's.
