The Romancing Star II
''The Romancing Star II'' (Chinese: 精裝追女仔之2) is a 1988 Hong Kong romantic comedy film written and directed by Wong Jing and starring Andy Lau, Eric Tsang, Natalis Chan and Stanley Fung. Chow Yun-fat, the star of the film's precedent ''The Romancing Star'', makes a brief cameo in the opening scene. The film was later followed by ''The Romancing Star III'' released in the following year. Plot Lau Pei collaborates with his friends to film a drama series to impress his crush Po-chu, but the drama series leads to unexpected levels of popularity. Wong Jing
Wong Jing ( born 3 May 1955) is a Hong Kong film director, producer, actor, presenter, and screenwriter. A prolific filmmaker with strong instincts for crowd-pleasing and publicity, Wong Jing played a prominent role in Hong Kong cinema during the 1990s. Biography Wong was born in Hong Kong, the son of noted film director Wong Tin-Lam. He graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a degree in Chinese literature which he describes as "useless" (Yang, 2003). Like many Hong Kong film figures of his time, Wong began his career in television – in his case, scriptwriting for local juggernaut TVB beginning in 1975 (Teo, 1997). Anthony Lun (born 12 April 1957) is a Hong Kong songwriter, arranger, musical director and singer who sings in Standard Cantonese, Cantonese, Standard Mandarin, Mandarin, Japanese and English. Biography Anthony Lun is a graduate of La Salle College, Hong Kong, Santa Clara University (Bachelor of Arts) and University of Michigan (Masters of Music). Upon returning to Hong Kong in 1986, Anthony released an album, "Anthony Lun's Composition Collection". Mak Ho Wai (; 7 January 1946 – 14 April 2022) was a Hong Kong / Singaporean television artiste with TVB and then Mediacorp. Early life and education Mak studied at the National Taiwan Ocean University, receiving a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering. He later earned a master's degree in Chinese language studies at the Beijing Normal University at the age of 60. Career After graduating from National Taiwan Ocean University, Mak was a radio DJ in Taiwan a period of time. Having spent ten years in Taiwan, he was proficient in speaking standard Mandarin. Mak enrolled into the twelfth cohort of the TVB artiste training class in 1982 to fulfil the wishes of his younger brother, , who was also an actor with TVB.
