The Rogues (film)
''I picari'', internationally released as ''The Rogues'', is a 1987 Italian comedy film written and directed by Mario Monicelli. It is freely inspired by the Spanish novels ''Lazarillo de Tormes'' and '' Guzman de Alfarache''. The film was co-produced with Spain, where it was released as ''Los alegres pícaros''. Plot ''I picari'' was the last of Monicelli's films, such as ''L'armata Brancaleone'', to be set in the Renaissance and medieval eras. As in his previous films, a tilting of the society and surroundings of the characters makes the film a parody of the goliardic lifestyle of the 12th or 13th century. In 17th-century Spain, vagrants Lazarillo and Guzman meet as slaves on a ship. Both had a troubled and difficult childhood because of their parents. Enzo Sciotti
Enzo Sciotti (24 September 1944 – 11 April 2021) was an Italian artist and illustrator. Sciotti was known for his illustrations of more than 3000 movie posters, typically for horror films, including '' The Beyond'', ''Demons'', ''The Blood of Heroes'' and several other Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento, and Lamberto Bava films. He also painted covers for comics and home video releases. Early life Enzo Sciotti was born in Rome, Italy, on 24 September 1944. His father, Emanuele Sciotti, was a church decorator, and many members of the Sciotti family were painters. As a teenager, Enzo drew a portrait of Pope John XXIII; his family sent it to the Vatican, and received a response from the Pope, who praised him. At the age of 16, thanks to his drawing talent and his passion for film, Sciotti found a job as an artist at a graphics studio in Cinecittà, producing movie posters. Blanca Marsillach del Río (born 23 March 1966) is a Spanish theatrical producer, actress, and businesswoman. Enzo Robutti (24 October 1933 – 13 February 2022) was an Italian actor, voice actor, comedian, playwright, and writer. Life and career Born in Bologna, Robutti attended the drama school of the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, and debuted on stage in the theatrical company of Vittorio Gassman in ''Irma la dolce''. He got his early successes as a stand-up comedian and a cabaret author at the "Derby Club" in Milan.
