DJ Sammy
Samuel Bouriah (born 19 October 1969), better known by his stage name DJ Sammy, is a Spanish DJ and record producer. He has released five albums and has had five top-10 hits, including a cover of Bryan Adams' "Heaven", which reached number one in the UK in 2002. His career started with ex-wife Marie-José van der Kolk in the making of his first singles, under the stage name of DJ Sammy featuring Carisma. Career DJ Sammy started his music career in 1984 in pubs (Siros pub – DJ Sammy worked there one summer season along with a well known PR in the area, Jose Crespo) and dance clubs of Mallorca, playing gigs at clubs such as Alexandra's (rebuilt around 1998/99 and renamed to Boomerang's), Banana's and Zorba's. During this time he completed training as a sound technician at the Mallorca Music College. He was also a DJ at the Cadena Top radio station. Singles The title track and first single, " Heaven", is a cover of the Bryan Adams song of the same name, released on 21 November 2001. Rise Again is a song co-written and recorded by DJ Sammy with vocals by Loona. It was released in August 2004 as the first single from the album '' The Rise''. The beginning of the song samples the beginning of "Where the Streets Have No Name" by U2. The song was used in the soundtrack for the film ''It's All Gone Pete Tong''. Music video The video shows DJ Sammy and Loona who was in the early stages of pregnancy. Trance is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged from the British new-age music scene and the early 1990s German techno and hardcore scenes. Chill Out Music
Chill-out (shortened as chill; also typeset as chillout or chill out) is a loosely defined form of popular music characterized by slow tempos and relaxed moods. The definition of "chill-out music" has evolved throughout the decades, and generally refers to anything that might be identified as a modern type of easy listening. The term "chill-out music" – originally conflated with "ambient house" – came from an area called "The White Room" at the Heaven nightclub in London in 1989. There, DJs played ambient mixes from sources such as Brian Eno and Pink Floyd to allow dancers a place to "chill out" from the faster-paced music of the main dance floor. Loona (born Marie-José van der Kolk, on September 16, 1974 in IJmuiden, Netherlands), is a Dutch pop singer and dancer. Life and career 1994–1998: Beginnings and ''Life Is Just a Game'' Van der Kolk was born on 16 September 1974 in IJmuiden. In 1991, she met DJ and producer DJ Sammy at Zorba's Club in El Arenal Mallorca. In 1992, DJ Sammy became resident DJ at the Joy Palace Club in El Arenal, while Van der Kolk was a resident dancer there, for whom she started to be a background singer for live performances.
