Marek Halter is a French writer and activist, known best for his historical novels, which have been translated into English, Polish, Hebrew, and many other languages. Biography He was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1936. During World War II, he and his parents escaped from the Warsaw Ghetto and fled to the Soviet Union, spending the remainder of the war in Ukraine, Moscow and finally in Kokand, in Uzbekistan. In 1945 he was chosen to travel to Moscow to present flowers to Joseph Stalin. In 1946 the family returned to Poland and in 1950, they emigrated to France, taking up residence in Paris. In 1946, he returned to Poland with his family, but he left for Paris in 1950, when he was fourteen, and studied pantomime under Marcel Marceau. He was admitted to the École nationale des beaux-arts to study painting. In 1954, he received the Deauville international prize, and was also awarded a prize at the Biennale d'Ancone. ''Tzadik'' (russian: Праведник, Pravednik, known as ''The Righteous'' in English) is a 2023 Russian World War II film directed by Sergei Ursuliak. The historical drama film is based on the real story of the Soviet partisan officer the Avenger detachment, Nikolai Kiselev (played by Aleksandr Yatsenko), who saved over 200 Jews from the Nazis in World War II. This film was theatrically released on February 16, 2023. Plot The film takes place in 1942, during the Great Patriotic War (World War II). The film is based on real events that took place during the Second World War between August and October 1942, when Russian soldier and Soviet partisan officer Nikolai Kiselev rescued 2018 Jews from the Holocaust. Righteousness
Righteousness is the quality or state of being morally correct and justifiable. It can be considered synonymous with "rightness" or being "upright". It can be found in Indian religions and Abrahamic traditions, among other religions, as a theological concept.
