''The Ridin' Streak'' is a 1925 American silent Western film directed by Del Andrews and starring Bob Custer, Roy Laidlaw, and Frank Brownlee Frank Brownlee (October 11, 1874 – February 10, 1948) was an American film actor. Plot As described in a film magazine review, the young sheriff of a Western town saves a young woman’s fortune from falling into the hands of a scheming scoundrel and later saves her from the importunities of a fortune hunter. Through a clever ruse, he wins a $5,000 purse after defeating the hirelings the villain has bribed to prevent his success. Del Andrews (October 5, 1894 – October 27, 1942), born Udell Endrows, was an American film director and screenwriter in the 1920s. He primarily worked on low budget westerns, writing and directing films starring Hoot Gibson, Fred Thomson, and Bob Custer. Claude Payton
Claude Duval Payton (March 30, 1882 in Centerville, Iowa – March 1, 1955 in Los Angeles, California) was an American actor in many silent films and other films. On stage, Claude Payton toured with the Spooner Stock Company, which was headed by his brother, Corse Payton, and his sister, Cecil Spooner. By 1914, Claude was working at the Thanhouser film producing company in New Rochelle, New York, where he mainly played the roles of villains or lawmen in Western films. Although Claude Payton survived the transition from silent movies to films with sound, in 1935 he was mainly in minor supporting roles in films. Claude retired from the filmmaking business in the mid-1940s. Páll Valtýr Pálsson or "Bill" Cody Sr. (January 5, 1891 – January 24, 1948) was a Hollywood B-Western actor of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, and father to Bill Cody Jr. Cody began his acting career in the early days of film and just happened to have the same name as "Buffalo" Bill Cody, although he was not a relation. Cody's name was what initially drew producers to him; however, he soon proved to be a charismatic performer in his own right. Biography Born to Icelandic parents, in Winnipeg, Canada, the son of Páll Valtýr Eiríksson from Víðvíkurströnd and Björg Jónsdóttir from Reykjarströnd, Cody was said to have attended Saint Thomas Military Academy, and later St. Johns University.
