The Return of the Spirit also known as The Soul Return ( arz, عودة الروح, aliases: Return of the Spirit or Return of Soul or The Return of Consciousness, translit: ''Awdat Al-Roh'', French: ''Retour de l'Esprit'') is a 1977 Egyptian drama miniseries starring Salah Zulfikar and directed by Hussein Kamal. The series is based on the 1933 novel written by Tawfiq Al-Hakim under the same name. Plot A young man who lives with his father's family of three uncles, who all fall in love with their neighbor who does not care about one of them, but she loves a neighbor in the same house, which makes one of the women do black magic to separate them, and suddenly Egyptian Revolution of 1919. The neighbors' situation changes and they decide to participate in the revolution, but they are arrested and they are all placed in one prison, then they fall ill and are taken to the hospital in one room, and each one begins to recall his memories. Muhammad ( ar, مُحَمَّد; 570 – 8 June 632 CE) was an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam. According to Islamic doctrine, he was a prophet divinely inspired to preach and confirm the monotheistic teachings of Adam, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and other prophets. Widad Hamdi ( ar, وداد حمدى) was an Egyptian actress. She starred in over 600 films during her lifetime, and almost all her roles were as a servant or maid. Early life and career Hamdi was born on March 7, 1924, in Kafr El-Sheikh, Egypt. She studied at the Institute of Representation and graduated after two years. Hamdi started her career as a singer. Her first film was Henry Barakat's ''This Was My Father's Crime'' (1945). She worked with the Egyptian National Troupe on several plays. Hamdi retired in the sixties but was called out of retirement to work on the play ''Tamr Henna''. Hamdi was married 3 times, to composer Muhammad al-Mougy and actors Salaah Kabeel and Muhammad al-Toukhy. Death Hamdi was killed in 1994. She was stabbed 35 times in the neck, chest, and abdomen. Her killer was convicted and later, executed. She died with very little money to her name. "Layla" is a song written by Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon, originally recorded by Derek and the Dominos, as the thirteenth track from their only studio album, ''Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs'' (1970).
