Zvonimir Jurić
Zvonimir Jurić (born 4 June 1971) is a Croatian film director and screenwriter. In 2009, he co-directed and co-wrote the 2009 psychological war drama titled '' The Blacks''. Early life Born in Osijek, SFR Yugoslavia, on 4 June 1971, Jurić finished his primary and secondary education in his hometown. As a teenager the 1980s he appeared in minor roles in a number of TV series produced by TV Zagreb such as the 10-part biographical series ''Nikola Tesla'' (1977), the Partisan series ''Nepokoreni grad'' (1982) and the popular children's series ''Smogovci'' (1982). Career After graduating from high school, Jurić spent the 1991–92 semester studying film directing at the Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. In 1992, he returned to Croatia and enrolled at the film directing department of the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. Ivo Gregurević
Ivo Gregurević (; 7 October 1952 – 1 January 2019) was a Croatian film, theatre and television actor. Throughout over a quarter of a century, Gregurević played rural bullies and arrogant nouveau riche and became one of Croatia's best known and most lauded character actors. Biography Born in the village of Donja Mahala, Ivo was the child of Marko and Jela Gregurević. He graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art, and has worked in over 90 movies and television programs since the late 1970s; in particular, he acted in almost all of Croatian movies after gaining independence in 1991. Pula Film Festival
Pula Film Festival ( hr, Pulski filmski festival) is an annual Croatian film festival, established in 1954. It is held in a Roman amphitheater known as the Pula Arena. Pula Film Festival is the oldest Croatian film festival and is usually held in the summer, in July or August. Apart from film screenings open to the public, the annual Croatian film industry awards are also traditionally presented at the festival. The awards presented at the festival (called Golden Arenas) are the main national film awards in the country, and they serve as the Croatian equivalent of the American Academy Awards. The festival was originally started in 1954 and within a few years it became the centerpiece event of the Yugoslav film industry, with the first national awards being presented in 1957. 2014 Toronto International Film Festival
The 39th annual Toronto International Film Festival, the 39th event in the Toronto International Film Festival series, was held in Canada from 4–14 September 2014. David Dobkin's film '' The Judge'', starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall was the opening night film. ''A Little Chaos'', a British period drama directed by Alan Rickman and starring Kate Winslet closed the festival. More films for each section were announced on 12 August, with the line-up completed on 19 August. A total of 393 films were shown, including 143 world premieres.
