''The Rated Legend'' is the debut studio album by British rapper Cadet. The album was released posthumously on 10 April 2020 via Cadet's independent imprint Underrated Legends. Its title comes from a reversal of the nickname used to describe Cadet, "The Underrated Legend". Background On 2 March 2020, Cadet's cousin Krept announced that Cadet's album ''The Rated Legend'' would be released the following month on 10 April 2020. It would include the singles "Advice" and " Gang Gang" as well as previously unreleased music, and features vocal contributions from Young Adz, Krept, Swarmz, Wretch 32, Chip, Tion Wayne, and Deno, and production from Show N Prove and Da Beatfreakz. Krept was the executive producer for the album and stated that all the guest artists and producers had contributed to the album for free. Cadet (rapper)
Blaine Cameron Johnson (2 March 1990 – 9 February 2019), known professionally as Cadet, was a British rapper. The younger cousin of Krept, Johnson began pursuing a solo career as a rapper in 2011, releasing a number of freestyles through YouTube outlets such as OSM Vision and Link Up TV. His debut project, '' The Commitment'', was released in 2016, followed by '' The Commitment 2'' the following year. He is perhaps best known for his single "Advice" featuring Deno, which peaked at number 14 on the UK Singles Chart. Johnson died in a car accident on 9 February 2019 on his way to a gig at Keele University in Staffordshire, three weeks before what would have been his 29th birthday. Deno Michael Mebrahtu (born 23 September 2002), known mononymously as Deno, is a British singer, songwriter, rapper and actor from London. His parents are originally from Eritrea, and he was raised in South London. He came to the forefront of London's afro-wave music scene beginning in 2018 with a number of viral music videos and hit songs. Music career Beginnings (2016–2017) Deno attended Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton, London. In 2016, a friend of Deno asked him to freestyle and sing on his Snapchat after school. Krept and Konan is a British hip hop duo from London, consisting of Casyo Valentine "Krept" Johnson BEM (born 4 February 1990, Gipsy Hill) and Karl Dominic "Konan" Wilson BEM (born 3 September 1989, Thornton Heath), the son of Delroy Wilson otherwise known as 'Jamaica's first child star'. Their first major release was the mixtape ''Young Kingz'', released on 2 September 2013. As of 3 May 2013, Krept and Konan signed a record deal with Virgin EMI Records.
