The Qur'an With Annotated Interpretation In Modern English
The Qur'an with Annotated Interpretation in Modern English is an English translation of the meanings of Qur'an written by Turkish Sunni Muslim scholar Ali Ünal. First published in 2006. The translation comes with interpretation and exposition on the meaning of Qur'anic verses in conjunction with Asbab al-Nuzul (the reasons for revelation or the circumstances of revelation) with extensive notes of explanation borrowed from various authoritative sources on the tafsir of the Qur'an. As Fethullah Gülen notes in his foreword to this work, Ünal "aims to present, for the benefit of everyone, any truth which he has found to be in compliance with the essentials of Islam." The work focuses particularly on the scientific facts of the Qur'an, the proofs for God's existence, and the purpose of life. Ali Ünal
Ali Ünal (born 19 January 1955) is a Turkish author and former chief writer at Zaman newspaper, which was closed following the failed 2016 Turkish Coup D'état. Biography Ünal was born on 19 January 1955 in Uşak, Turkey. He is often associated with the Gülen Movement, an Islamic group in Turkey. In addition to being an author, Ali Ünal is a prolific translator of works with an Islamic theme into English, and has translated into English many works by Fethullah Gülen, the spiritual leader and founder of the Gülen Movement. In 2006, Ali Ünal's English translation of the Quran was released. Ali Ünal's translation has been noted for its use of contemporary English, which makes it more readable than some classical Quran translations. Risale-i Nur
The Risale-i Nur Collection ( tr, Risale-i Nur Külliyatı, ota, رساله نور كلیاتی) is a tafsir (exegesis) on the Qur'an written by Said Nursî, an Islamic Scholar from Bitlis region of Turkey between the 1910s and 1950s. The commentary does not keep to the order of the ayah as is done in classic Islamic exegesis, as it makes comments on their meanings. It is rather a thematic tafsir which deals with the doubts surrounding the basic doctrines and principles of Islam. The collection includes fourteen books. The primary purpose of the Risale-i Nur is to bring about a religious revival in Turkey.
