One Little Independent Records (formerly One Little Indian Records) is an English independent record label. It was set up in 1985 by members of various anarcho-punk bands, and managed by former Flux of Pink Indians bassist Derek Birkett. In the 1990s it set up a number of subsidiary labels. ''Two'' is Kathryn Williams 7th studio album, released by CAW Records on 3 March 2008. The album is a collaboration with Neill MacColl. The pair met at the Daughters of Albion concert at the Barbican in 2005 where she performed "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", which was written by Neill MacColl's father, Ewan MacColl. They met up in May 2007 to write and record 21 songs for the album in six days. Critical reception The album garnered positive reviews with ''The Independent'' calling the album "a magical meeting of intuitive musical minds". The ''BBC'''s Michael Quinn claimed it is "a disc to be cherished from the first note to the last". Kathryn Williams (born 15 February 1974, Liverpool, England) is an English singer-songwriter who to date has released 14 studio albums, written and arranged for a multitude of artists, and was nominated for the 2000 Mercury Music Prize. Williams released her first album, '' Dog Leap Stairs'', on her own Caw Records label in 1999 with a budget of £80. The follow-up, '' Little Black Numbers'', garnered a Mercury Prize nomination in 2000, bringing her to the attention of a wider public. Jude Rogers (born 1978) is a Welsh journalist, lecturer, arts critic and broadcaster. Leo Matthew Abrahams (born 1977 in Camden, London) is an English musician, composer and producer. He has collaborated with a multitude of professional musicians, including Brian Eno, Katie Melua, Imogen Heap, Jarvis Cocker, Carl Barât, Regina Spektor, Jon Hopkins and Paul Simon. Kate St John (born October 2, 1957) is an English composer, arranger, producer and multi-instrumentalist. Classically trained on oboe, she gained a music degree at City University London. Her first band was The Ravishing Beauties with Virginia Astley and Nicky Holland. The trio joined The Teardrop Explodes in Liverpool during the winter of 1981 for a series of dates at small clubs and a UK tour in early 1982. During the 1980s and early 1990s, she was a member of The Dream Academy with Nick Laird-Clowes and Gilbert Gabriel. Anthony Kerr is a British jazz vibraphone player, who has performed and recorded internationally with Georgie Fame, Charlie Watts, BBC Big Band, Robbie Williams, Joe Lovano, Jacqui Dankworth, and Courtney Pine. Maria Gilhooley (née Knight), who records under the name Marry Waterson, is a singer, songwriter and visual artist. A member of the Waterson-Knight-Carthy family musical dynasty, Waterson is described as having "thrived on communal music making while developing highly original and distinctly English performance styles of erown."
