The Prom (band)
The Prom was a piano-driven indie (music), indie band. Chris Walla (of Death Cab for Cutie) has done Audio mixing (recorded music), mixing for The Prom (the 3-song EP ''Saloon Song'') and they released an album on Barsuk records. History The Prom was formed in Seattle, Washington in 1999 by James Mendenhall and David Broecker, who had previously played together in their home town of Omaha, Nebraska. Joel Brown, an audio engineer, was brought on to play drums. Their debut album, ''In This Way They Found Me'', was released on Panther Fact Records in 2000. In 2001 they played West Coast of the United States, west coast shows with Rainer Maria, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci and Bright Eyes (band), Bright Eyes. After releasing ''Saloon Song'' on Barsuk, they played a 2001 national tour with Death Cab. The band's second record, ''Under The Same Stars'', was released in 2002. Bright Eyes (band)
Bright Eyes is an American indie rock band founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst. It consists of Oberst, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, arranger, composer and trumpet and piano player Nate Walcott, and a rotating line-up of collaborators drawn primarily from Omaha's indie music scene. Between 1998 and 2011, the band's albums were released through Saddle Creek Records, a Nebraska-based label founded by Justin Oberst (Conor's brother) and Mogis. David Broecker (musician)
David Andrew Broecker (born 1961) is an American life sciences executive. He was president and CEO of Alkermes from 2007 to 2009 and was appointed president and CEO of the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute in 2015. He left that position in 2017. Education and career Broecker graduated from Carmel High School, where he led their football team to an undefeated season and the 1978 state 3A championship, tying the Indiana High School Athletic Association record for most touchdown passes in a championship game. He then attended Wabash College, where he majored in chemistry and led the Wabash Little Giants football team to an undefeated season in 1982. Broecker won the 1982 National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete Award and was inducted into the Wabash College Athletic Hall of Fame twice: as an individual in 1992, and as part of the team he led in 2013. The Black Heart Procession (occasionally spelled The Blackheart Procession) is an American indie rock band from San Diego, California. Biography Early years The band was formed in 1997 by Pall Jenkins (Mr. Tube and the Flying Objects, Palllap, Ugly Casanova and Three Mile Pilot) and Tobias Nathaniel ( Three Mile Pilot). The group is often augmented by the contributions of Matt Resovich, Mario Rubalcaba, Jason Crane, Joe Plummer, Dmitri Dziensuwski, Jimmy LaValle and Matthew Parker.
