The Prince And The Pauper (1990 Film)
''The Prince and the Pauper'' is a 1990 American animated comedy action-adventure featurette produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and directed by George Scribner. Featuring the voice of Wayne Allwine as Mickey Mouse, it is inspired by Mark Twain's The Prince and the Pauper, 1881 novel of the same name. It was Disney's final use of the Traditional animation#Traditional ink-and-paint and camera, traditional ink-and-paint and camera process, before the Computer Animation Production System, CAPS digital-ink-and-paint process rendered the traditional techniques and equipment obsolete. Some objects, such as the carriage, were created on computers before being printed out on paper and photocopied onto animation cels. George Scribner
George Scribner (born September 28, 1952) is an artist, director and animator that is best known for having directed the 1988 animated Walt Disney Animation Studios film ''Oliver & Company''. Biography Scribner was born and raised in the Republic of Panama, where he attended grade schools and drew his way through most of his classes. After attending The Bolles School in Florida, he majored in film at Emerson College in Boston and moved to Los Angeles to pursue animation and joined Hanna-Barbera Productions. He became an animator at Walt Disney Feature Animation in the mid 1980s and it is in 1988 that he directed ''Oliver & Company''. He also directed the featurette ''The Prince and the Pauper'', starring Mickey Mouse in a duo role playing both himself and the Prince. Tony Anselmo
Tony Anselmo (born February 18, 1960) is an American voice actor and animator. He has been the official character voice of Donald Duck since 1985 following the death of the original voice actor, Clarence Nash. He has also provided voices for Donald's triplet nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Early life Anselmo was born on February 18, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Donald Paul Hahn (born November 26, 1955) is an American film producer who is credited with producing some of the most successful animated films in recent history, including Disney’s ''Beauty and the Beast'' (the first animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture) and ''The Lion King''. Computer Animation Production System
The Computer Animation Production System (CAPS) was a proprietary collection of software, scanning camera systems, servers, networked computer workstations, and custom desks developed by The Walt Disney Company and Pixar in the late 1980s. Although outmoded by the mid-2000s, it succeeded in reducing labor costs for ink and paint and post-production processes of traditionally animated feature films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It also provided an entirely new palette of digital tools to the filmmakers. Traditional animation (or classical animation, cel animation, or hand-drawn animation) is an animation technique in which each frame is drawn by hand. The technique was the dominant form of animation in cinema until computer animation. In the American film industry, a featurette is a kind of film that is shorter than a full-length feature, but longer than a short film. The term may refer to either of two types of content: a shorter film or a companion film. Medium-length films A featurette is a film usually of three to four reels in length, or about 22–43 minutes in running time, thus longer than a two-reel short subject but shorter than a feature film. Hence, it is a "small feature" (the ending " -ette" is a common diminutive suffix derived from French), and in fact featurettes were sometimes called "streamlined features". An adventure is an exciting experience or undertaking that is typically bold, sometimes risky. Nicholas Pike is an Emmy Award winning English film and television music composer. He was born in Water Orton, Warwickshire, England, and is known for featuring unique sounds and instrumentation.
