The Prince (2019 Film)
''The Prince'' ( es, El Príncipe) is a 2019 Chilean drama film directed by Sebastián Muñoz, and co-written by Muñoz and Luis Barrales, based on an obscure 1970s novel written by Mario Cruz. Set around 1970 in a prison cell in San Bernardo, Chile, just prior to Salvador Allende's presidency, ''The Prince'' is a dark story about affections and loyalties between prisoners, the search for sexual identity, love, violence and the rise to power behind bars. The film made its world premiere was in the ''Critic’s Week'' section at Venice International Film Festival 2019, winning the prestigious Queer Lion Prize. ''The Prince'' was also selected to compete in San Sebastian International Film Festival, 2019 at the ''Horizontes Latinos'' section. Alfredo Castro (actor)
Alfredo Arturo Castro Gómez (born 19 December 1955), best known as Alfredo Castro, is a Chilean actor. With a well stablished trajectory in theater and television, he became one of the most required latinamerican film actors of the 2010's. Personal and early life He grew up in a family of five brothers; his mother died of cancer when he was 10. He attended elementary and middle school at Saint Gabriel de Las Condes, Kent School in Providencia and Liceo de Hombres No. 11 in Las Condes. He entered the Theater Department of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile, where he graduated in acting in 1977. Valdivia International Film Festival
The Valdivia International Film Festival (Spanish: Festival Internacional de Cine de Valdivia (FICV o FICVALDIVIA)) is an international film exhibition and competition, held annually in the city of Valdivia, Los Rios region, Chile. The festival begun in 1993 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Cine Club of the Universidad Austral de Chile. A competition was included the following year, labeled as "Valdivia Cine & Video". That event became a milestone to cultural activity in southern Chile, promising at that time to become the greatest film event in the country.
