Charles Giblyn
Charles Giblyn (September 6, 1871 – March 14, 1934) was an American film director and actor of the silent era. He directed nearly 100 films between 1912 and 1927. He also appeared in 23 films between 1914 and 1934. He was one of the founders of the Motion Picture Directors Association. Beginning in 1914, Giblyn worked with the Universal Motion Picture Manufacturing Company. He founded Albion Productions, a film production company, in 1922. Giblyn was also the screenwriter for ''Scandal'' (1917). On Broadway, Giblyn acted in ''The Song of the Sword'' (1899), ''Wheels Within Wheels'' (1899), and ''The Ambassador'' (1900). Giblyn was born in Watertown, New York and died in Los Angeles, California. Charles Bowser (born October 2, 1959) is a former American football linebacker who played four seasons in the National Football League for the Miami Dolphins. Early life and career Bowser played his college career at Duke University, setting the school's single season and career sacks record at 17.5 and 22, respectively. Bowser graduated from Plymouth High School, located in Plymouth, North Carolina in 1978. Charles Bowser also played a role as part of the Miami Dolphins Killer Bees Defense of the 1980s. Cesare Gravina (23 January 1858 – 16 September 1954) was an Italian actor of the silent era who appeared in more than 70 films between 1911 and 1929. Born in Naples, Gravina was an orchestra conductor in his native Italy. As the conductor at La Scala, among the noted vocalists he worked with were Mary Garden and Enrico Caruso. At some point he left music to become a character actor, sharing his reasons for the career change with no one. As the owner of many theaters in South America, Gravina was financially secure enough to retire from motion pictures by 1924, but he preferred to remain in acting. David Powell (actor)
David Powell (December 17, 1883 – April 16, 1925) was a Scottish stage and later film actor of the silent film, silent era. Background He was born in Glasgow. In his twenties Powell appeared in stage companies of Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree, Ellen Terry, and Johnston Forbes-Robertson. In 1907 he appeared with Terry on Broadway in the first American presentation of George Bernard Shaw, Shaw's ''Captain Brassbound's Conversion''. In 1912, Powell started his film career in one to three reel shorts. At the beginning of the 1920s, he starred in several Paramount-produced English films.
