''The Power of Your Love'' is the first live contemporary worship album released by Hillsong Music — the first album in the live praise and worship series of contemporary worship music released by the label. It was recorded live by Geoff Bullock, Darlene Zschech and the Hillsong team. In 2000 the album was certified gold by Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) for shipment of 35000 units. The majority of the songs for the album were written and composed by Geoff Bullock, the then Worship Pastor of Hillsong Church. Album design ''The Power of Your Love'' was designed by a local design firm in Sydney, Australia. The Font used for the title is Century Gothic (a standard font on most Microsoft Computers). The front cover photograph is a panograph taken by Christian photographer; Ken Duncan. His panographs are seen on three other Hillsong album covers. Geoff Bullock
Geoffrey William "Geoff" Bullock (born 6 November 1955) is an Australian singer-songwriter and pianist. He helped pioneer the Hills Christian Life Centre, which later became Hillsong Church. He was appointed as the church's worship pastor and was also the convenor of their annual conferences from 1987 to 1995, before leaving Hillsong in late 1995. Bullock has recorded over 20 albums and written two books, ''Hands of Grace'' (1998) and ''The power of your love... Jesus the unexpected God'' (2000). Early life and career Geoffrey William Bullock was born on 6 November 1955 in Sydney. His father is Peter and his mother is Beth; and he grew up with a younger sister, Jane. Bullock was raised as a Presbyterian and attended Knox Grammar School from 1964 to 1972. He completed tertiary studies at North Sydney TAFE in 1976 for a Television Operator's Certificate II. ''Cross Rhythms'' was the eponymously titled music magazine, produced by the Christian media organisation of the same name. It was founded under the name ''Cross Rhythms Magazine'' by editor Tony Cummings, and printer Mark Golding in April 1989, with the first issue being made available in May 1990. Two years later, publication of the magazine was taken over by Cornerstone House, a publishing company owned by Chris Cole. After partnering with Christian radio station United Christian Broadcasters (UCB) in 1995, the magazine was given more financial stability. Brian Houston (pastor)
Brian Charles Houston ( ; born 17 February 1954) is a New Zealand-Australian former pastor and evangelist. He was the founder and senior pastor at Hillsong Church, based in Sydney with locations around the world. He was the national president of Australian Christian Churches, the Australian branch of the Assemblies of God, from 1997 to 2009. In January 2022, Houston stepped aside from his roles within the church, after being criminally charged in Australia for allegedly concealing sexual abuse of a child by his father, of which he became aware in the 1990s. Houston professed his innocence and stated that he intends to plead "not guilty" at the trial, scheduled for October 2022. Cross Rhythms is a Christian media organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It operates an FM and online radio station, produces radio shows sent internationally, and its website has resources about contemporary Christian music. History 1983–2002 In 1983, Chris Cole started a 30-minute weekly Christian music radio show on Plymouth Sound FM, an Independent Local Radio station in Plymouth. Hills Entertainment Centre
The Hills Centre was a modern brutalist complex of civic buildings in Castle Hill, New South Wales opened in stages between 1982 and 1988, and demolished in 2013. The complex included a 1,678-seat auditorium called the Hills Entertainment Centre, a council works depot and the Baulkham Hills Shire Council (later The Hills Shire Council) chambers. The auditorium played host to early meetings of Hillsong Church before the group moved to a purpose-built facility nearby. The Entertainment Centre foyer was dominated by a large mural: a Cubism-inspired work depicting various aspects of the performing arts, made up of thousands of ceramic pieces. The mural was the work of local artist Vladimir Tichy, who maintained a studio on the premises of a local brickworks.
