The Plunderer (1924 Film)
''The Plunderer'' is a lost 1924 American silent Western film directed by George Archainbaud and starring Frank Mayo and Evelyn Brent. An earlier version filmed in 1920 starred William Farnum. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Richard Townsend goes West to develop his heritage, the unproductive Croix D'or gold mine. He and Bill Matthews, his trusty foreman, discover that the mine is being plundered of its gold by Bill Presbey, the owner of the adjacent claim and father of Joan. George Archainbaud
George Archainbaud (May 7, 1890 – February 20, 1959) was a French-American film and television director. Biography In the beginning of his career he worked on stage as an actor and manager. He came to the United States in January 1914, and started his film career as an assistant director to Emile Chautard at the World Film Company in Fort Lee, New Jersey. In 1917 he made his own directorial debut '' As Man Made Her''. During the next three and a half decades he directed over one hundred films. After the beginning of the 1950s he moved to television. While working at RKO Radio Pictures in the beginning of the 1930s, he showed some artistic and skillful eye with many of his films. Eddie Phillips (August 14, 1899 – February 22, 1965) was an American actor. He appeared in 180 films between 1913 and 1952. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died in a traffic accident in Hollywood, California. He started as a child actor and during his career also amassed an extensive list of Broadway and television musical credits; once performing in the Soviet Union.
