"The Platinum Rule" is the 11th episode in the How I Met Your Mother (season 3), third season of the television series ''How I Met Your Mother'' and 55th overall. It originally aired on December 10, 2007. It was the last episode to air before the 2007–08 Writers Guild of America strike. Plot Ted Mosby, Ted announces to the group that he is planning on taking out his tattoo removal doctor Stella to a movie and is immediately met with disapproval. Barney Stinson, Barney mentions the ''Golden Rule'': Although it is known commonly from the Bible as the ethic of reciprocity (''"Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you."''), Barney's take on it is "Love thy neighbor", which would lead into his ''Platinum Rule'' as "Never ever, ever, ever ''love'' thy neighbor." How I Met Your Mother
''How I Met Your Mother'' (often abbreviated as ''HIMYM'') is an American sitcom, created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays for CBS. The series, which aired from September 19, 2005 to March 31, 2014, follows the main character, Ted Mosby, and his group of friends in New York City's Manhattan. As a framing device, Ted, in 2030, recounts to his son, Luke, and daughter, Penny, the events from September 2005 to May 2013 that led him to meet their mother. Television Without Pity (often abbreviated TWoP) was a website that provided detailed recaps of select television dramas, situation comedies and reality TV shows along with discussion forums. These recaps were written with sarcastic criticism and opinion alongside a retelling of an episode's events, which the site referred to as "snark". Mason Evan Raymond (born September 17, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey winger who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames and the Anaheim Ducks.
