''The Phantom Broadcast'' is a 1933 American mystery film directed by Phil Rosen and starring Ralph Forbes, Vivienne Osborne and Gail Patrick.Bradley p.169 It was based on a story by Tristram Tupper entitled ''Phantom of the Air''. An arrogant singing radio performer is murdered, apparently by his accompanist who provided the real voice behind his success. Phil Rosen
Philip E. Rosen (May 8, 1888 – October 22, 1951) was an American film director and cinematographer. He directed more than 140 films between 1915 and 1949. He was born in Malbork, Marienburg, German Empire (now, Malbork, Poland), grew up in Machias, Maine, and died in Hollywood, California of a heart attack. He was one of the founders of the American Society of Cinematographers. Rosen was married to model and actress Joyzelle Joyner. Dick Rush
Richard T. Rush (born 1884) was an Australian-born American character actor of the silent and sound film eras. During his 28-year career, he would appear in between 160 and 300 films (depending on the source). The large majority of his parts were smaller roles, although he would occasionally be cast in a smaller featured role. His first part was in the silent 1920 film, ''Three Gold Coins'', starring Tom Mix. His final appearance would be in 1948's '' Devil's Cargo'', part of " The Falcon" film series. Kit Guard
Kit Guard (born Christen Klitgaard May 5, 1894 - July 18, 1961) was a Danish-American actor whose career started in the 1920s. Guard left his birthplace of Hals, Denmark, around the turn of the 20th century, one of five brothers to do so. He moved to San Francisco, and in 1913 he became assistant stage manager and actor at the Alcazar Theatre there. He later acted on stage at the Wigwam Theatre in San Francisco. In World War I, he entertained overseas and later served in the Rainbow Division of the U. S. Army. Guard was a prolific performer, appearing in over 400 films. He appeared with Al Cooke as a comic duo in a number of films from 1923 to 1927. His other film appearances range from ''The Racketeer'' in 1929 to ''The Joker Is Wild'' in 1957, with a number of subsequent uncredited appearances. Louise Beavers (March 8, 1902 – October 26, 1962) was an American film and television actress. From the 1920s until 1960, she appeared in dozens of films and two hit television shows. She was most often cast in the roles of a maid, servant or slave. Early life Beavers was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to school teacher Ernestine (Monroe) Beavers and William M. Beavers, who was originally from Georgia. Due to her mother's illness, Louise and her parents moved to Pasadena, California. She graduated from Pasadena High School. Althea Henley (July 23, 1911 – April 25, 1996) was an American film actress and dancer. She appeared in approximately 15 films between 1930 and 1936. Career Born in Egypt, Pennsylvania in 1911, Henley was the second of four children. She was trained as a dancer while growing up near Allentown, Pennsylvania, and eventually moved to New York City to appear in vaudeville. While in New York, Henley performed in Florenz Ziegfeld's "Show Girl". Henley moved to Hollywood and appeared in several films for Fox Film Corporation and Columbia Pictures.
