The Perishers (TV Series)
''The Perishers'' is an animated cartoon series produced by Bill Melendez Productions and FilmFair. BBC1 transmitted it in 1979 and repeated until 1988. The series is based on Maurice Dodd's long-running comic strip, ''The Perishers''. Sheila Steafel voiced the roles of Maisie and Baby Grumpling; Leonard Rossiter voiced Boot; Judy Bennett voiced Wellington; Peter Hawkins served as the narrator, and voiced the characters of Marlon and BH. Castle Vision published the first home video release of ''The Perishers'': Two VHS videocassettes, each with 10 episodes. Castle Vision
Castle Communications, also known as Castle Music, was a British independent record label and home video distributor founded in 1983 by Terry Shand, Cliff Dane, and Jon Beecher. Its video imprint was called Castle Vision. The label's production ceased in 2007, and its remaining rights are now chiefly vested in BMG Rights Management. Castle also operated a subsidiary label, Essential Records. DVD region codes are a digital rights management technique introduced in 1997. It is designed to allow rights holders to control the international distribution of a DVD release, including its content, release date, and price, all according to the appropriate region. Videotape is magnetic tape used for storing video and usually sound in addition. Information stored can be in the form of either an analog or digital signal. Videotape is used in both video tape recorders (VTRs) and, more commonly, videocassette recorders (VCRs) and camcorders. Videotapes have also been used for storing scientific or medical data, such as the data produced by an electrocardiogram.
