The Outsiders (novel)
''The Outsiders'' is a coming-of-age novel by S.E. Hinton, first published in 1967 by Viking Press. Hinton was only 15 when she started writing the novel; however, she did most of the work when she was 16 and a junior in high school. Hinton was 18 when the book was published. The book details the conflict between two rival gangs divided by their socioeconomic status: the working-class " greasers" and the upper-class "Socs" (pronounced —short for ''Socials''). The story is told in first-person perspective by teenage protagonist Ponyboy Curtis. The story in the book takes place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1965, but this is never explicitly stated in the book. A film adaptation was produced in 1983 by Francis Ford Coppola, and a short-lived television series appeared in 1990, picking up where the movie left off. The Outsiders were a professional wrestling tag team consisting of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, best known for their appearances in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). They also teamed in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), and Pro Wrestling ZERO1-MAX. Hall and Nash were seven-time World Tag Team Champions. They were occasionally joined by Sean Waltman, forming a trio most frequently known as The Wolfpac. The Outsider (miniseries)
''The Outsider'' is an American psychological thriller- horror crime drama television series based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Stephen King, adapted for television by Richard Price. It was ordered to series on December 3, 2018, after being optioned as a miniseries by MRC in June 2018. It premiered on HBO on January 12, 2020. It stars Ben Mendelsohn, Cynthia Erivo, Bill Camp, Paddy Considine, Julianne Nicholson, and Jason Bateman (who also directed the first two episodes). Though HBO has not renewed the series, King stated that scripts for a second season have been written, and the cast and crew have expressed interest in continuing the series. In November 2020, HBO passed on a second season, with production company MRC to shop the series to other outlets. ''The Outsiders'' (Traditional Chinese: 鬥魚; Pinyin: ''Dou Yu''; meaning "Fighting Fish") is a 2004 Taiwanese romance and action series starring then newcomers Dylan Kuo, Ady An, Blue Lan and Michael Zhang. The drama is often referred to as the Taiwanese version of the popular Hong Kong film series ''Young and Dangerous'' which is about the stories of triad gangs. The drama is Dylan Kuo's first lead role. Prior to the role, he was a popular model who only had bit cameo roles in dramas. ''Ha'Nephilim'' (''The Outsiders'', he, הנפילים) is a television programme which was broadcast on Yes (Israel) written by Ruby Doanias and Chen Kliman. It is named after the biblical Nephilim, who are referred to in the show. The second season was broadcast on the Israeli Kids Channel. Promotion Before the show was premiered on Yes Israeli, it was advertised online using teasers, that requested the public's help in finding a missing teenager, Zuri Barlev. ''Ceddo'' (), also known as ''The Outsiders'', is a 1977 Senegalese drama film directed by Ousmane Sembène. It was entered into the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. Plot In Senegal, sometime after the establishment of a European presence in the area but before the imposition of direct French colonial administration, the Ceddo (the outsiders, or non-Muslims) try to preserve their traditional culture against the onslaught of Islam, Christianity, and the slave trade. When local king Demba War sides with the Muslims, the Ceddo abduct his daughter, Dior Yacine, to protest their forced conversion to Islam. Two members of the tribe try and fail to recapture the princess. Fearing their position is under threat, the local Imam inspires the Muslims to kill the king and the white Christian slave-traders. Nick Hancock
Nicholas John Hancock (born 25 October 1962) is an English actor and television presenter. He hosted the sports quiz ''They Think It's All Over'' for 10 years. He also formerly presented ''Room 101'' (1994–1999) on TV, as well as its earlier radio version (1992–1994). Early life Hancock grew up with three elder sisters and his father Ken. He was educated at Yarlet School in Staffordshire and later Shrewsbury School. He was awarded a third-class degree in education by Homerton College, Cambridge. While he was at Cambridge Hancock was a member of the Footlights, where he first collaborated with Hugh Dennis and Steve Punt, and became president in 1983, with Punt as vice president.
