The One Game
''The One Game'' is a four-part 1988 British television drama serial, produced by Central Independent Television and broadcast on ITV from 4 June to 25 June 1988. Set and filmed in Birmingham, it starred Patrick Malahide, Stephen Dillane (credited as "Stephen Dillon"), Pippa Haywood and Kate McKenzie, and was written by John Brown from a concept by Tony Benet. Plot Nick Thorne (Dillane) is a businessman who has achieved success by marketing games. He finds himself drawn into a "reality game" by his former business partner Magnus (Malahide), whom Nick had forced out of their games company after its initial success. Called "The One Game", this sees Nick take on a series of challenges which force him to explore his past, while both his professional and personal life come under threat. Patrick Malahide
Patrick Gerald Duggan (born 24 March 1945), known professionally as Patrick Malahide, is a veteran British film, television and theatre actor, author and producer, known, amongst other things, for his roles as Inspector Alleyn in ''The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries'', Detective Sergeant Albert “Charlie” Chisholm in the TV series ''Minder'', Balon Greyjoy in the TV series ''Game of Thrones'' as well as the big screen in a number of international films. Personal life Malahide was born in Reading, Berkshire, the son of Irish immigrants; his mother was a cook, and his father a school secretary. He was educated at Douai School, Woolhampton, Berkshire. DVD Region Code
DVD region codes are a digital rights management technique introduced in 1997. It is designed to allow rights holders to control the international distribution of a DVD release, including its content, release date, and price, all according to the appropriate region. This is achieved by way of region-locked DVD players, which will play back only DVDs encoded to their region (plus those without any region code). The American DVD Copy Control Association also requires that DVD player manufacturers incorporate the regional-playback control (RPC) system. Gibberish, also called jibber-jabber or gobbledygook, is speech that is (or appears to be) nonsense. Welsh ( or ) is a Celtic language family, Celtic language of the Brittonic languages, Brittonic subgroup that is native to the Welsh people. Nigel Hess
Nigel John Hess (born 22 July 1953) is a British composer, best known for his television, theatre and film soundtracks, including the theme tunes to ''Campion (1989 TV series), Campion'', ''Maigret (1992 TV series), Maigret'', ''Wycliffe (TV series), Wycliffe'', ''Dangerfield (TV series), Dangerfield'', ''Hetty Wainthropp Investigates'', ''Badger (TV series), Badger'' and ''Ladies in Lavender''. Biography Hess was born in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.
