Harold Lloyd Filmography
These are the known films of Harold Lloyd (1893–1971), an American actor and filmmaker most famous for his hugely successful and influential silent film comedies. Most of these films are known to survive in Lloyd's personal archive collection and in various film archives around the world. Some are also available on DVD or Blu-ray. The negatives of many of Lloyd's early short films were lost in a fire at his estate in 1943. The losses include five of the six Willie Work films, 53 of the 67 Lonesome Luke films, and 15 of the 81 one-reel Glasses character films. All of Lloyd's films from '' Bumping into Broadway'' (1919) onward exist in complete form in the archives. He carefully preserved his feature films, and they remain in excellent condition. Charles Sutton (actor)
Charles Sutton (1856 – July 20, 1935) was an American actor of the silent era. He appeared in more than one hundred films between 1911 and 1923. In addition to his work on film, Sutton acted on stage, including working with the Pasadena Players at the Pasadena Community Playhouse. He left there to go to New York, where he worked in plays, including ''The Three Musketeers''. In his later years, Sutton lived in Englewood, New Jersey, in the Actors Fund Home. On July 20, 1935, he died in Englewood Hospital, aged 79. James Gordon (April 23, 1871 – May 12, 1941) was an American silent film actor. He appeared in more than 120 films between 1911 and 1935. He also directed 4 films between 1913 and 1915, including the 1915 film '' The New Adventures of J. Rufus Wallingford''. Gordon was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 23, 1871. Laura Sawyer (February 3, 1885 – September 7, 1970) was an American film actress on stage and in silent films. Early life Sawyer was born in Iron County, Missouri, the daughter of Alvah Hayden and Laurette Sawyer.Corpus Christi Times (Corpus Christi, Texas) September 9, 1970 Her father was a doctor. By 1900 she was a boarder at the Ursuline Academy in St. Louis. Career Sawyer began her career on stage with the Otis Skinner theatrical company and performed in Shakespeare's plays for two years. She also toured with E. H. Sothern. She joined the Edison Studios while still in her early twenties. She almost immediately found stardom at Edison and remained with the studio until 1913.
