''The Old Fritz'' (German: ''Der alte Fritz'') is a 1928 German silent historical drama film directed by Gerhard Lamprecht and starring Otto Gebühr, Julia Serda and Bertold Reissig.Klossner, Michael. Gerhard Lamprecht
Gerhard Lamprecht (6 October 1897 – 4 May 1974) was a German film director, screenwriter and film historian. He directed 63 films between 1920 and 1958. He also wrote for 26 films between 1918 and 1958. Life and career Lamprecht was fascinated by cinema since his childhood and started to work as a film projectionist at age twelve. Wilhelmine, Gräfin von Lichtenau, born as Wilhelmine Enke, also spelled Encke (29 December 1753 in Potsdam – 9 June 1820 in Berlin), was the official mistress of King Frederick William II of Prussia from 1769 until 1797 and was elevated by him into the nobility. She is regarded as politically active and influential in the policy of Prussia during his reign. Biography The future Countess von Lichetenau's father, Johann Elias Enke, was a chamber musician in service of King Frederick II of Prussia. Wilhelmine met Crown Prince Fredrick William in 1764. The king preferred that the crown prince maintain a relationship with her rather than have changing relationships with foreign women, and in 1769, during which for most of the year she was 15 and he 24, she became the crown prince's official mistress. Dina Gralla (born Hedwig Gralla; 15 January 1905 – 11 November 1994) was a German film actress. Gralla was born Hedwig Gralla in Berlin to German parents. She received dance training in 1919 and performed as a ballet dancer at the revues at the Berlin Wintergarten theatre. After taking private acting lessons from Walter Steinbeck, director Richard Eichberg cast her his 1925 drama film ''Leidenschaft'' before appearing in a number of silent films and into the sound era of the early 1930s. Due to illness she had to stop her career as an actress in 1934. The only exception was her appearance with a small part in the 1954 Erik Ode directed drama ''Ten on Every Finger'' (1954). Renate Brausewetter (1 October 1905 – 20 August 2006) was a Spain, Spanish-born Germany, German silent film actress. She was the younger sister of German actor Hans Brausewetter. Brausewetter was born in Málaga, Spain, moving to Berlin, Germany in 1915. She made her screen debut in 1925's ''Die freudlose Gasse'' (''The Joyless Street''), appearing alongside Greta Garbo. Brausewetter appeared in over a dozen silent films, but retired from acting in 1928 before the advent of sound. She appeared in only one sound picture, 1950's ''The Staircase (1950 film), The Staircase''. Brausewetter was living in a retirement home in Linz am Rhein when she died of natural causes on 20 August 2006, aged 100.
