The Nutcracker Story
''The Nutcracker Story'' is a documentary film made for '' The South Bank Show'', written and directed by Margy Kinmonth and produced by Foxtrot Films Ltd in association with ITV productions and Channel 4 International. Margy Kinmonth is a British film director and producer. Laura Morera
Laura Morera is a Spanish ballet dancer who was a principal dancer with The Royal Ballet until 2023. Early life and training Morera was born in Madrid. She started going to London to attend Royal Academy of Dance's summer programme when she was seven, and when she was 10, she auditioned for The Royal Ballet School by dancing a solo from '' Paquita'' in pointe shoes. Leonid Sarafanov
Leonid Sarafanov (born 28 June 1982 in Kyiv, Ukraine) is a principal ballet dancer with the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St Petersburg, Russia. Biography Leonid Sarafanov studied at the Kyiv State School of Choreography and graduated in 2000, joining the National Ballet of Ukraine the same year as soloist. In 2002, he was invited to join the Mariinsky Ballet in St Petersburg by the director of the time, Makhar Vaziev and quickly became famous. The young Ukrainian was catapulted into the most challenging of roles in the Mariinsky repertoire and abroad on tour. He was promoted to soloist in 2003 and finally, became a principal. Gerald Anthony Scarfe (born 1 June 1936) is an English cartoonist and illustrator. He has worked as editorial cartoonist for ''The Sunday Times'' and illustrator for ''The New Yorker''. His other work includes graphics for rock group Pink Floyd, particularly on their 1979 album ''The Wall'', its 1982 film adaptation, and tour ( 1980–81), as well as the music video for "Welcome to the Machine". David Anthony Nixon is a Canadian dance choreographer. Born in Chatham, Ontario, Nixon trained at the National Ballet School of Canada and danced with the National Ballet of Canada. He joined the Deutsche Oper Ballet, in Berlin, in 1985 as a principal dancer where he won the Critics Award for Best Male Performance in 1987. Peter Wright (dancer)
Sir Peter Wright CBE (born 25 November 1926) is a British ballet teacher, choreographer, director and former professional dancer. He worked as a choreographer and as the artistic director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, a classical ballet company based in Birmingham, England. On retiring from the company in 1995, he was bestowed the honorary title of Director Laureate of the company. Peter Schaufuss
Peter Schaufuss (born 1949 in Copenhagen, Denmark) is a Danish ballet dancer, director and choreographer. Biography He is the son of ballet dancers Frank Schaufuss (1921–1997) and Mona Vangsaae (1920–1983). Schaufuss trained at the Royal Danish Ballet School from age seven, and then joined the Royal Danish Ballet. He was artistic director of the English National Ballet 1984 to 1990, and Berlin Ballet from 1990 to 1994. From 1994 to 1995, he was artistic director of the Royal Danish Ballet.
