''The North Borders'' is the fifth studio album by British musician Bonobo (musician), Bonobo. It was due for release on 1 April 2013, but was released early on 21 March in digital format after a promotional copy was leaked. The album charted at number 29 on the UK Albums Chart. As of 20 January 2017 it had sold 56,993 copies in UK. Packaging The artwork for ''North Borders'' and its singles were created by Australian art director and album artist Leif Podhajsky. Bonobo (musician)
Simon Green (born 30 March 1976), known by his stage name Bonobo, is a British musician, producer, and DJ based in Los Angeles. He debuted with a trip hop aesthetic, and has since explored more upbeat approaches as well as jazz and world music influences. His tranquil electronic music, electronic sound incorporates the use of organic instrumentation, and is recreated by a full band in live performances. Music career 1999–2009 Green debuted in 1999 on the Tru Thoughts compilation ''When Shapes Join Together''. His stage name Bonobo is a reference to the Bonobo chimpanzee species. Leif Podhajsky is an Australian graphic designer and art director, well known for his distinctive album art working with artists such as Tame Impala, Bonobo, Foals, Kylie Minogue, Of Monsters and Men, Lykke Li, Toy, The Horrors, Mount Kimbie, Kelis, London Grammar and Aurora. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays).
