Monica Stucchi (born 28 May 1963), known by her stage name Valerie Dore, is an Italian singer. Career Monica Stucchi was born in Milan, Italy. Prior to her career in music, she worked as graphic designer. In the early 1980s she fronted The Watermelon String Band, a bluegrass band led by the banjoist Bruno Guaitamacchi that performed in the Milan clubs circuit. Stucchi was discovered at age 20 by the Italo producer Roberto Gasparini, who launched her solo career and give her the stage name Valerie Dore to improve her international appeal. Dore's first single, "The Night" (1984) arranged by Lino Nicolosi, "Get Closer" and "It's So Easy", released in 1984 and 1985, respectively. Italo Disco
Italo disco (variously capitalized, and sometimes hyphenated as Italo-disco) is a music genre which originated in Italy in the late 1970s and was mainly produced in the early 1980s. Italo disco evolved from the then-current underground dance, pop, and electronic music, both domestic and foreign (American hi-NRG, French Euro disco) and developed into a diverse genre. The genre employs electronic drums, drum machines, synthesizers, and occasionally vocoders. It is usually sung in English, and to a lesser extent in Italian and Spanish. The origin of the genre's name is strongly tied to marketing efforts of the ZYX record label, which began licensing and marketing the music outside Italy in 1982. Princessa, born Mónica Capel Cruz, is a Spanish pop/dance singer. Born on 18 May 1975, she first became known for her participation in "World On Ice" in Madrid and in Spain's Gran Circo Mundial. She was discovered by producer Frank Peterson at the age of 16 and a few years later recorded her first album. She has produced three full-length records released in Europe and Japan, and a fourth, ''All I Want'', is in production, having released the title single. DJ Tonka (born Thomas-René Gerlach on June 24, 1973 in Mainz, West Germany) is a German electronic dance musician. He is also known as Tonka, Chip Tunes, and Thomastic. Musical career In his early career, Thomas-René Gerlach worked with fellow producer Ian Pooley in the groups Outrage, Space Cube, and T'N'I. Together they produced several records in techno, progressive house and breakbeat. In 1996, the partnership was dissolved (an EP with unreleased tracks was still released in 1997), and coincidentally, both started producing a more mainstream-friendly sound. As a solo artist, Gerlach took on the name DJ Tonka and began producing house music, with influences from synthpop and the American garage house scene.
